So much more comfortable with Lenglet over Davies.

I think the sign of a good player especially defender is one who makes it look easy like they're not really exerting themselves. Maldini had that, S.Ramos had that, Rio Ferdinand, Ledley King, Toby and Jan, Romero and now Lenglet the same that he's classy and a bit effortless when he plays compared to e.g. Ben Davies who is all heart and all action but he is having to play like that because ultimately he's not at the level of some of these other defenders so he has to play out of his skin week in week out.

Once the season is really in full flow I full expect lenglet to be a regular starter and having him and Romero either side of Dier, both ball playing defenders makes a big difference to how we're able to control games.

Good stuff. Mostly one way traffic. Shame we dont have a 2 goal lead. More of the same should provide a comfortable win.

Think that half sums up how important it is to have passing CBs in a Conte side. More important than having creative CMs even.

We look a completely different team with Romero and Lenglet in there.

Strong half. Just need to seal the deal and score another one ASAP.

We look so much more dynamic and fluid. Superior vision and a lot lot quicker when it comes to passing. One second more on the ball for our midfield and attack before getting closed down helps massively.

I was amazed at how calm and pleasant this thread has been today (well mostly anyway)

This came has been a relative canter to be fair mate, we've completely nullified them and I really don't think barring a set piece to Mitrovic that they will have much of a sniff 2nd half, perhaps if we don't get the 2nd goal and the game gets late on they could push us back a bit but otherwise I expect us to be pretty comfortable really tbh.

I think he has potential to be far more effective going forward. He can finish. He scored loads of goals in the Championship one season when he was really young. Just feels like a mental / confidence thing with him.

Also, isnt it nice to think we have Kulusevski to come on if we need him.

Winning the ball back is all well and good, but it’s not the sort of attacking contribution that Conte’s automations call the wingbacks to produce.

Over and over and over again, Emerson takes up positions that a competent crosser of the ball would turn into dangerous chances. Over and over and over again, he gets it completely wrong.

The reason he gets hammered for his crossing is that his crossing is utterly woeful.

like I said though. criticise his crossing, fine. But you then get "Emrson is awful" comments, which isn't true. A lot of his game is fine
