How we playing?

I’d say fairly well really against a reasonably tricky side.

We’ve completely nullified them to basically absolutely no threat at all so far, we could’ve had 2/3 ourselves.

We aren’t blowing them away so will need a 2nd but we’ve booked very very comfortable so far and sonny has hit the bar.

We should get more chances 2nd half as more spaces open up.

Lenglet and Romero either side of Dier are different class with the ball etc

Is it? I've never seen anyone criticising his lack of effort and tenacity. Perhaps they don't expressly praise his aggression enough, I guess.

The only thing people criticise, rightly, is his final ball.

Emerson is a good player but not a wingback for sure. He can't cross for sure.

Yea only takes one sniff of a chance for big mitro but all good so far very comfortable

Good performance so far. Feel for Sonny it’s just not going in for him, but it will soon if he keeps getting in good positions.

Superb half of football. Created a shit-ton of chances, everyone looking bright. Even the wing-backs doing well (bar their final ball). Clem Fandango looking at home and will hopefully banish the ghost of Davies-as-a-starter. Very encouraging.

Best half of the season. Playing outstanding one touch football. Lenglet showing what many of us have been calling for with his ball carrying and passing ability. Bentacur has been fantastic, as has Richarlison.

Despite Emerson's crossing issues, he is such a good defender and his energy is what started the sequence of the goal.

Perisic on for Sessegnon and Deki on for Son are the only two changes needed in the second half.

Much better. The bar's pretty low but that might be Sonny's best showing so far this season. Bentancur is everywhere, all the time.

He contributed to the goal. Our wingbacks are definitely still our weakness but I’d argue that Sess has been worse than Emerson. The play breaks down with Sessegnon almost every time he gets it. Maybe just spoiled by Perisic’s uncanny ability to always get a cross in but seems like Sess cannot get past his man to get a ball in.

Overall definitely much better today.
