3 at the back and no Jorginho is a big positive I think. Kante is obviously freakishly good but his use of the ball is nowhere near as good as Jorginho's and they won't dominate possession quite so much.

Rather than playing to their strengths they're trying to counter ours. Quite a big risk from Frank.

Why the fuck is Eriksen on the bench? Give that spot to Sessegnon or Parrott or literally anyone else.

Dier and Sissoko in midfield again. Bang goes any chance of us playing decent football FFS
We'll play plenty of decent football, just more so in the final third. To be fair we often dominated midfield and lacked potency in the final third before so at least it's the other way around now. How people can't be excited about that front 4 is beyond me.

Skipping midfield with long balls didn't work vs United, this could be ugly. They play with a different formation and Rudiger returned for them, looks like they are more focused on not losing. Disappointed with no Sessegnon on the bench, Ndombele still not fit enough to start I guess. This is probably the most rested squad so far for us so hopefully we see lots of running and covering for others.

I think Frank has the right idea, I bet mourihno would have played ndombele or winks if he knew Chelsea would defend like this.

I am going to get slated for this, but I would have played eriksen for this game.

is Frank overthinking this?

I think he is. If he played to his own strengths they’d probably be the ones on the front foot. As it is they’re set up not to lose. It’ll be a weird match I feel. They set up somewhat negatively but we’re not currently the type of team that requires a low block defense as we are primarily a counter attacking side now.

Really hope Kane drops deeper, dont give their CBs anyone to mark and see if they can be disciplined and hold their shape over 90 mins.

Really want lots of movement from Son, Lucas and Dele pull that back 3 where they dont want to be.
