it doesn't mention uefa cup winners qualifying for next season's cup in any of the Uefa regulations.

wasn't this all changed recently when there was the Liverpool/Everton champions league situation? (and if yes what way was it changed )

Only if the team didnt get a uefa place in the league, the team will get a place in the uefa cup (The qualify rounds, so not directly).

Can we ban Clattenberg from WHL?

He was a disgrace today!

Well done to the lads anyway, must have been a great game to watch as a neutral.

Title-holder
1.06 Unless the UEFA Cup title-holder qualifies for the UEFA Champions League through its domestic championship, it will be guaranteed a place in the first round of the UEFA Cup. If the title-holder does qualify for the UEFA Cup through its domestic competitions, the number of places to which its national association is entitled in the UEFA Cup does not change. If the UEFA Cup title-holder does not qualify for either the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Cup through its domestic competitions, its participation in the UEFA Cup will not be at the expense of the contingent of its association.

I think that confirms it.

Just back from the game and I'm scratching my head wondering how we didn't put them away. We have a very good side and the so called big four better watch out next season, because Juande is in town and ready to kick some arse.

The defence were very good today and we have Ledley and Bale and Gilberto to come in.

Special well done to Woody and Hutton on there WHL debuts.

anyone else disgusted by the indiscipline of top 4 teams when they are losing. fucking disgraceful.

Yeah, 7 yellow cards, they'll be charged by the FA now for that, it'll probably be a £20 fine or something stupid.

very generous timekeeping by the ref today, too. the goal came at 93:40 with three minutes added time.

Steed & O'hara what the fuck were these 2 doing?

2 minutes into injury time we've got good possesion in their half and these 2 are trying to score!

FFS sake we don't need to score again at this stage, get the ball into the fucking corner flag and get some time off of the clock, in fact they probably finish the game. Instead they try and score Van Der Fucking Bollocks picks it up whacks up the pitch they get a corner and the rest is history.

Naive in the extreme!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AAARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like we put in another good shift and probably should have won the game...... think the improvements in the recent games against Arse, ManYoo, Everton and ManYoo have been immense and we can look forward to a strong finish.......

Must do the business at Derby next week and then start picking off the points against the teams immediately above us......COYS

the ref was a total cock
nani should have gone and he shouldn't have let them play the corner.

Now I only heard the radio commentary , but could anyone tell me , were they all over us at the very end of the match ? it sounded like we'd started playing a bit deep and bringing them on to us .

The change of Lennon for Boateng , did this send a 'git the wagons in a circle ' vibe to the team in those crucial last minutes ?

Anyone who saw the match help me with this ?

They were all over us for most of the 2nd half to be fair.

I didn't agree with the substitution.

Lennon was our out ball all the time, he also has the beating of Evra who looks like he's running in treacle next to Lennon.

We were deep late on but in all honesty against a team like Utd when your 1-0 up that is always going to happen especially when they have 4 up front.

We played really well and Keane should have finished the game.

I was listening to it on the radio and Stan Collymore said that our midfield was very mobile he said "Lennon, Malbranque and Huddlestones also no slouch" Eek

Agree on Lennon, should have stayed on, he may well have set up a second on the break and is our best out ball when we are under it.
