Hutton Looked very good today and if he carries on that way it looks like money well spent but i think the back four in general had an outstanding game today, even Chimbs at right back looked good and but alot of effort in Dawson looked like he did at his best and Woodgate looked good aswell. Think they may have rested King knowing Woodgate would miss next game at Derby, and not sure if he would be bale to play in both very wise choice i think.

Think we were unlucky today not to get the 3pts, we deserved at least one penalty, but as said above when the ref is Cnutenbug you know you gonna get any big decisions go your way against Man U.

gutted 3 mins added time then goal scored 4 mins later. why does this happen to us so often? and why didn't Ramos waste the time with a substitution?

I would have taken a draw at the start, but to throw it away right at the death is so annoying!

How was Dawson brilliant?

I don't call giving the ball away practically every time you get it and scoring an own goal in the last second brilliant, the man has no finesse, Just kick/head it it as hard you can and don't worry about direction, hope King is back soon, so Woody can revert to his prefered position of Right centre halve and we can fuck Dawson right off to the bench.

he cleared his lines when he had to, its called 'defending'

he could have got himself sent off for whacking VDS in the face too!

that was a total accident, Dawson wasn't even looking where VDS was, the commentators made way too much of that.

it was just at a time when we needed to alleviate the pressure Dawson kept giving the Ball to VDS and then to score an own goal with the last touch of the game after such a strong performance, my anger cant let me see past that:evil:

As we are all painfully aware our weakness for far too long this season has been our defence.

Today our back four contained a right back who was making his debut, a centre-half making only his second appearance for us, a centre-half whose confidence has been beaten to a pulp, and a right-back playing at left-back.

Save for a last second lapse in concentration we made the most potent team in the league look decidedly ordinary.

I'm gutted that we conceded with almost the last kick of the game but I'm fiercely proud of every single man in a white shirt today.

It's just good to see the cockerel crowing again.

But for most of the match Man U never looked like scoring it really looked like we were gonna win and we could of won this 2 or 3 nil if we had got either of the penalty decisions or keane hadn't wasted a lovely through ball from Berbs, Not knocking Keano he played bloody well today and he deserved a goal. But the back four as a unit today snubbed out every attack, they played very well together.

Sounds promising.

Thanks for the info.

I think Hutton was brilliant... especially considering he was up against giggs, ronaldo, nani and even rooney at times!! If he performs like that against probably the best players he's ever going to face... just think what he's going to be like against everybody else

perhaps he's a manu supporter - the handball and sending off gave them the game in the cup and own goal today starts to make you wonder!

will you be so happy if we miss out on europe by one point?

Miss out on Europe? There isn't a team left in the UEFA Cup that could live with us the way we played today and you know Chavski won't be relishing playing us in the Carling Cup Final.

We can be very proud of the lads today, with a bit better finishing we would've been out of sight and Tevez's goal would not have mattered but I think this is a sign of the vast improvements in the team. Great debut from Hutton, baptism of fire to be fair, he'll have easier games than that. Woodgate was very good again. Dawson, much improved on last week. Berbatov - words can't describe how gifted a player he is. And Lennon was top notch again today.

Says it all really when the best team in the country run round celebrating that late goal like it was the winner in the Champions League final. They got out of jail (again), no doubt but I am so proud of the effort the lads put in today, we deserved the 3 points, but you don't always get what you deserve.

You don't get a Uefa cup place for winning the Uefa cup...

so we would have to beat CHelski or get a hell of a lot of points from our last league games to get to 7th (Eufa cup qualification position in the event of us losing the Cup final ((which we wont, so it will be irrelevant )))

Yes, you do. We've been through this in loads of threads already.

But I'd rather we wacked Chelski off the park and took the League Cup so we don't have to worry.

anyway.

matches between top teams are always tight.

the difference between us and the big 4 is their consistency against the mediocore/shit teams. that should be our main priority.

Oh dear Michael Dawson.

I'm not going to say a word. Shame Ledley is finished as we're going to have to put up with Michael for at least 4 more months.

Said in an earlier post we needed 2 goals and so it proved to be. But great effort by the lads, particularly the astonishing Steed who must have covered more ground than any other player on that pitch. If Keano or Berby had taken their chances...oh well. Gave ManUSA Corp as hard a game as they will get this season in any competition. I think Fergie was telling Gus as much at the final whistle as well.
