The politics and sports data nerds over at 538 have got us down as the "favourites" to win the EL....well, the team with highest % chance* of winning it...:

*....93% chance of qualifying from the group....14% to get to the final.....7% chance of winning

Ha! with the results of this week's games in Europe the model now has a new leader in the statistical probability of winning the EL....drum roll........PSG!

Very obviously because the model now has on its radar they could finish 3rd in their group and drop into the EL.
we are ranked with a 6% chance of winning the EL

Ole has explained on MUTV that moving players between the first team and the U23s is hard right now because of bubbles - they have to travel independently, can't be in a meeting or dressing room, etc. Might explain why we didn't see Cirkin, White etc on the bench yesterday?

Pretty or not, winning our group was imperative and it’s a big achievement.

Our potential list of Round of 32 opponents is now :
Molde
Slavia Prague
Benfica
Granada
Real Sociedad
Braga
Lille
Maccabi Tel Aviv
Wolfsberger AC
Red Star Belgrade
Krasnodar
RB Salzburg
Olympiacos
Dynamo Kyiv

Definitely some potentially tricky legs in there (Benfica, Lille, La Real are all dangerous) but it will allow for some rotation in the team which could be huge in a potential title race. Compared to the list of teams we could have faced if finishing second (Milan, Roma, Napoli, Ajax, Villareal, Leverkusen, Shakhtar) it's an important victory.

We'll get Benfica and we can drop Gedson back with them.

Real Sociedad are second place in La liga, anyone else would be preferable for me. If we can rest one or two players that would be great.

Lille and Real Sociedad are the teams to avoid (both second in there leagues), Olympiacos and Benfica would be annoying ties to get as well.

Reckon there's a good chance he'll play against us if we draw them

And he'll use all that pent up energy from not featuring in a competitive match for 3 months to put in a Prime Zidane mixed in with Prime Kante with a dash of prime Kaka performance to eliminate us from the EL.

Slavia Prague, please.

I love the city of Prague (not that we can go anywhere), and the spammers have this weird affiliation with Slavia at the moment, always wishing them well on social media. So i wanna slap ’em.
