Just noticed on this the official site re: subs changing from now onwards in Europa

Five substitutes
From this stage onwards, teams will be permitted to field up to five substitutes in a Europa League match and name 12 substitutes on the bench. For knockout matches, a sixth substitution can also be made during extra time.

Each team may use a maximum of three stoppages in play to make substitutions – one additional stoppage in extra-time can be used. Substitutions made during half-time, between the end of normal playing time and extra-time, and at half-time during extra-time do not reduce the number of stoppages in play that can be used.

Great news for our big squad and the chance to give squad players and youngsters a run out, as well as have insurance policies on the bench

They have the 5 subs rule in La Liga too. Not sure it doesn't add too much disruption to the team though.

Nice opportunity to throw in some youth when we are winning

Looking at the dates, here are our PL fixtures after the EL ties.

Game 1 - Burnley A
Game 2 - Brighton H
Game 3 - WBA A
Game 4 - Chelsea H
Game 5 - Arsenal H
Game 6 - Palace A

I imagine Jose will be focusing on 3 wins to begin with so that we can top the group and be able to prepare better for Chelsea and Arsenal. Arsenal being in the Europa helps too.

Whilst the Europa can be a slog, we should now have enough to balance on all fronts.
Burnley game pushed back to Monday means we now get an extra day to prepare.

Although it means a day less to prepare for the EL game that week. Hopefully it's a home one.

League Matches following our away days..

November 1st - Brighton away
December 6th - NLD at home vs Arsenal
November 8th - West Brom away

could definitely be worse.

We now have squad depth. We can leave key players for PL at home if needed. I'm not going to fret over this now.

Note to squad: Don't give Ludogorets any free kicks

Edit: Of course the scorer left them in the summer. As you were then

On the flip side, we'll have 3 days of rest after the LASK game ( which is right before the Burnley game).

The politics and sports data nerds over at 538 have got us down as the "favourites" to win the EL....well, the team with highest % chance* of winning it...:

*....93% chance of qualifying from the group....14% to get to the final.....7% chance of winning
