On 5Live? The only thing they've got wrong is saying that Redmond stumbled into Alli accidentally. He clearly did it on purpose.
I tend to agree, but the thing is, intent doesn't form part of the law, so, regardless, as it wasn't an attempt to win the ball, then I guess it's a red. The law's an ass.

How the hell does that angle prove your point. Look at it from the diagonal - Sky showed the perfect angle, the camera is in line with both Eriksen and Son. You can see from that angle the pass is hit with pace and is going straight to Son. Yes, if Romeo doesn't head it, Son may have had to control it, instead of it diverting 3 yards ahead of him saving him having to do that, but no way was it 5 (or even 1) yards behind him.

I don't agree, sorry. And even if Son only has to control it, the defenders get over and he's not in on goal.

But whatever. Eriksen can do no wrong, gets really exhausting with you sometimes, haven't got the energy to argue something a) so obviously not true and b) ultimately inconsequential

He's not the messiah - he's just a kid learning the game. As fans we've got to understand that too. At the moment he wants every pass to be a killer one, every touch to be a nutmeg. He's got to learn percentages without losing the killer instinct. It will come with experience and good management.

I'm not really sure why you're taking issue with anything Ive said, I've said he needs to develop and mature composure, and that he's a talented boy. You'd be better off tackling the muppets who have just watched Eriksen run the game, make 60 passes, set up two goals (should have been three), see as much ball as our two CM's, from ACM and still call him shit.

Don't be ridiculous, Son's in acres of space. I didn't say the deflection didn't make it better, it clearly did, but it's also clearly bollocks to claim the pass was 5 yards behind him.

All I take issue with is how you prefer to focus on the negatives with certain players, and vice versa with others.

I appreciate his age which is why I said "develops composure with maturity", but even as a kid Lampard was more composed and less clumsy as well as having a knack of "arriving" and great technique at the death. And the point I was making originally, before others tried turning it another debate, was that he hasn't really scored most of his goals from "midfield" which kind of puts his achievements into a false light, he's played as an AM, and some games he's ambled about almost more as a second striker, and you cannot claim he's scored goals from midfield, which suggests he's been doing a midfielder's job as well as banging in goals, which he hasn't.

scored 2 on an off night?..... I don't disagree he looked poor but shite, the kid wins games. you can't buy that, you can't equate that. He's the one player worth carrying for 80 minutes

Do you not think he's going to be something special?

Oh, and I love Harry Winks! I really do... He moves the ball so quick!! I think Winks and Dier will be an awesome pair deep in the midfield..
Bang on the money about moving it quick. Few games back when he was on he looked our best player. Our tempo is quicker when he plays. Not saying he should start every game but he looks really promising.

Well, we kind of did..

I think he's got talent, timing and character - qualities that suggest he will have a good career - but unless he matures and develops composure and better decision making I can't see too many very top coaches/clubs carrying the slapdash bollocks week after week in return for the moments of productivity - they can afford to buy both.

But he's 20, so hopefully maturity will round him, improve him, he's got the scope and shitloads of time on his side. And he needs to find his role. ACM/ARM/ALM is not it.

Never a man to go chasing the green, I have to put my hand on my heart and say I thought he was poor tonight. And that's exactly what I was thinking just before he bagged his second. He gave the ball away too cheaply too often and is a factor in our laboured build-up play, IMO. Clearly the boy has talent but I don't quite know what his best position is.

I said exactly the same to @THFCSPURS19 when I watched him play for MK. Or, more to the point, I said I couldn't quite see where he fits into our 4231 and that the 3 or 4 games I saw him play he was very untidy. He got very angry with me. And my opinion hasn't changed on that score. Until that conundrum is solved and he matures mentally and starts making more composed decisions I fear we'll continue to see lots of frustrating shite, punctuated with moments of real quality. When he's producing you can just about look the other way for 87 minutes, knowing there's been some pay off, but when he's not he's fucking Jason Dozell. And the last couple of games he's delivered goals, but we can't overlook the weeks of utterly frustrating crap, I mean real crap, when he wasn't producing and was contributing nothing but clumsy bumbling that was contributing heavily to our poor attacking play.

I keep saying that he's basically played the same way for two seasons now. He doesn't have games where he plays poorly or games where he plays well, he does the same stuff, good and bad, week in week out. The difference is today his header hit the inside of the post and went in, and his shot was curled just inside the post instead of just outside. He makes the same mistakes every game, but also finds the right place at the right time, every game.

Two things make him a special player for me. The first is that ability to just turn up where he needs to be, without anyone noticing until it's too late. The other is that his head never goes down, he never hides, he always works, and his teammates claerly appreciate that.

He's not quick, he's not powerful, and his dribbling is nowhere near as good as he obviously thinks it is, but he's effective.

And he's a character. I enjoy watching him play for us, and frankly that's all that matters. If I watched football just to see my team win things, I'd have stopped watching Spurs a long time ago.

Dele is a shadow striker/second striker/false 9 (whatever you want to call it) and anyone saying otherwise is having a laugh. He is not an "attacking midfielder" in the traditional sense like Frank was. The kid is just a better looking Thomas Muller. He can try meg people all day for all I care because whenever the ball goes through that defenders legs it's almost always a chance created. He will score more and create more as he develops - and right now at age 20 he's scoring and creating enough to justify starting every game for one of the best 6 clubs in one of the best leagues in the world - he's not doing too bad. He could very well be up there with Neymar, Griezmann, Pogba, Dybala as the best players in the world in 4/5 years.

Don't have a go at bc. Everytime he starts slating a player they score.

Comparing alli and lampard at the age of 20 only goes to show how superior lampard was. Alli might have almost triple the goal scoring ratio. But that doesn't tell you the whole story.

Not sure what the story was though.

Glad he can laugh at himself. Although it was the dodgy pitch

We won 4-1 away from home, against a decent side, and people arguing about an assist.

Only on Spurs Community.

I missed the first 15 mins, thankfully, but we controlled that game after we equalised.

Danny Rose is arguably the best LB going around at the moment. Absolute gun.

Delle Alli for all his failings, still manages to get amongst the goals and Poch will continue to persist with him because of that.

Good to see Kane get amongst the goals. Would have been nice to get the second but that penalty spot was in some poor nick.
