Although I am very happy with the result and we were exciting in patches, did anyone else believe us to be very tactically naive today, especially as a team defensively (team selection) and then the way we played in the last 10 minutes, and especially bringing Defoe on. This isn't a negative post, more that I saw a hell of a lot of space for constructive criticism in that game....

I think we should defo give Tim the Christmas period, after that result would be hard not to IMO. West Brom next, good chance of another 3 points.

Do people not realise what Siggy does for the team? He was protecting Rose, covering the CM along with supporting the attackers and getting in the box constantly. A real unsung hero in my eyes, puts in 100% effort every game.

Our attacks came down the right hand side so Siggy was always going to be quite anonymous in attacking phases.

Please, he didn't even make any tackles. A left midfielder's job is to contribute to the attack, not just mark the other team the whole game. He was awful, and lost the ball with pretty much every touch.

SO WHAT?

and we controlled the match quite well.. I thought we were comfortable in all areas except the defence, ironically that was a fortress not long ago that AVB forged..

can't wait for Verts to come back and take the CB spot as his own with Kaboul/Vlad partnering him...

What was so refreshing about today was everyone's appetite for work. I thought Sherwood was fantastic and should be credited as he has come in for a lot off stick this week some of it warranted some of it not. The bentaleb sub was a fantastic decision and swung the game in our favor again. I don't want to drift into too much hyperbole but can't remember the last time i have been this delighted with a spurs result.

Sherwood really is an all or nothing type of bloke. His interviews are very forthright but he clearly wants the job long term or not be associated with the first team. And his football reflects his personality.

If we had scored one of those very good chances, and thats the perennial if with us, but I think we would have got a few more - that 10 min period or so was us playing such dominant football, but with purpose and making chances - not seen that for a while..

It is. But in fairness we scored 3 today which is a first in the prem for a long long time and should have had more.

Against the tightest defence in the league at that point, and away as well thats a definite and positive improvement

Great win. I questioned Bentelab but Tim obviously knew something we didn't. Very impressive and we looked far more fluid when Dembele went off.

Ade fantastic. Problem is, will it last with him? Think we better just make the most of it while we can

Tim is on the inside remember and knows the younger players well. I hope more of them will get a chance to prove their worth.

I am more in favour of Sherwood getting the gig than i was the other day

Gets the best out of Adebayor, not afraid to change things or take a risk, attractive football etc

I don't think anyone really gets the best out of Ade, If he wants to play, He can be one of the best in the world, On the other hand if he don't want it enough he can be one of the worst.

I do agree that Sherwood has listened and seems to know how we should be playing and it was a lot better than anything that Avb served up this season, When you consider who he had available today (defence wise).

I'm more interested in the overall way we played as I,personally, have a check-list and he ticked quite a few of the major ones: players close together hunting and playing in packs and playing balls in between the oppo being the key two.

Lamela will get sorted out. He needs to be brought through in a team that is firing and confident, so today was good a very good day overall as we'll be high as crack 'eds tonight and will bring that into the next game where I would start him again.
I thought Lamela did really well today, if what he was trying was not coming off, at least he tried to get stuck in, albeit getting it wrong sometimes. But you know what? IT doesn't matter, practice makes perfect and we have a 30 million talent there that will ultimately surpass that IMO, you can see it. He never gave up, he kept trying and trying and the more he does that, the more it will come off. Just look at Ronaldo in his first year, just who the hell was he? Well we soon found that a year or so later.

Lamela did just fine today. Overall, we didn't play too great and was very sloppy, but it all has to start from somewhere.

A much more entertaining game and thought we looked fantastic in attack, a bit shaky in defence, but with Vertonghen and Sandro missing, it's something that might be improved quite easily.

Very impressed with Bentaleb, he looks like he could be a real talent and hopefully we will see him get more opportunities for us. Thought Ade was top class today and produced a performance that gave a two fingered salute to AVB, both Ade and Soldado linked up well, which bodes well for the future.

All in all a good result away to a very decent Southampton, 3 goals, much more positive in attack and it was good seeing Lamela, Soldado and Ericksson start, so full credit to Sherwood.

We actually played the high line and got caught out on numerous occassions, notably the second goal.

So both managers would have won by a 1 goal margin. I dont see your point
Maybe I'm not being clear. I'm trying to say that if AVB was still our manager then we wouldn't have achieved a better result (i.e. we wouldn't have claimed a more convincing win) than Sherwood got today, and that I had more fun watching Sherwood's side. Therefore based on what little we've seen so far, I'm happier with Sherwood in the hot seat than I was with AVB, because IMO AVB would [at best] only equal Sherwood's results, and would play a less enjoyable brand of football. I don't think I can put it any more plainly than that?

Lets he honest...the first half wasn't great, but in the second half we battered them. Could easily of been 5-2 if Soldado was finishing.
