With Tim in charge this could work beautifully or fail spectacularly.

It's too early to judge badger face just like it was too early a week ago but he's done a lot of things right today that the previous manger failed to do.

Let's see how things go over xmas.

The big surprise for me was Eriksen was excellently defensively in the middle of the field. His ability to play weighted passes has been missed.

I thought he was absolute trash - he lost the ball 95% of the time he had it. Unbelievable he wasn't taken off for Chadli instead of Lamela

At the time I would have agreed, but Chadli did fantastically on the right and should have had at least a couple of assists. Could have perhaps switched Lamela to the left but he's hardly sparkled there either, and at least Siggy has more physicality to his game.

AVB's away record was great, but he never got it right at home. Add to that a poor to terrible record, this season, against the rest of the top 6 and he was a goner. I was impressed with some of the football today, but I can't believe if we give Sherwood a ten year contract, he'll be subbing a striker with another striker when we're one goal up away from home with five minutes to go.

There is definitely an element of death or glory about Sherwood at the moment. I agree that he maybe wouldnt be so kamikaze if he was not looking at such short term 'game by game' goals.

still fortune favours the brave.

Here are some facts about Nabil Bentaleb.

Bentaleb is an 19 year old attacker who also likes to play as a central playmaker or left-winger.

He is a France under-19 international who is also eligible to play for Algeria.

Formerly in Lille's academy, he was released at 15 and signed with Belgian side Mouscron. He had a trial at Birmingham before impressing Spurs enough to sign him up.

There was a period in the second half where we were murdering them.

Still a little ring rusty but 'Best defence in the league' just got ripped a new one. Will have to settle for exciting winning football until we gel.

If we had scored one of those very good chances, and thats the perennial if with us, but I think we would have got a few more - that 10 min period or so was us playing such dominant football, but with purpose and making chances - not seen that for a while..

Why? I'm saying that if AVB had put out a team today that came away with a win, it wouldn't have been by more than the one goal margin that Sherwood achieved: either 0-1 or 1-2 IMO. You don't have to agree, but what's not to understand?

So both managers would have won by a 1 goal margin. I dont see your point

I think we all need to remain calm, very calm. That team, formation and the subs would not get us anywhere near 4th place. Don't get me wrong it was nice to see the right players being picked but the shape was wrong. The last 2 subs were absolute madness and while I thought Bentaleb looked quality surely the sub should have been Capoue for Dembele. Defoe for Soldado was also a bad substitution given the stage of the match and the way we had lost the midfield.
Overall I thought we looked very untidy and didn't really have much of a plan. We were too open at the back and the gap between Chiriches and Dawson was wide enough to drive a bus through at times. Rose does not look great either and was clearly labouring at the end. Anybody who thinks he is in the same class as BAE is very wrong.

Now for the good, Eriksen didn't have a great game but plugged away and used the ball well. Dembele hasn't really got the discipline for that role but again I thought he did some decent things. Ade, well what can you say? That was the £25 million striker that we all know he can be. Great finishes, worked his socks off, great build up play, strong, and I'd forgotten how quick he is for a big fella. All round great performance. Soldado missed some good chances but I really like him and I know it will happen for him.

We can't play like that every week and I really hope that while Tim is in charge, not too long please, that he is a bit less gun-ho and doesn't stick with the 4-4-2.

Glad we bloody won!

Badger face... That's a new one.

I like to think of him as Bradley Walsh's mentally challenged brother

He don't mince his words does he. "I won't keep the seat warm for anyone" basically gimme the job or I go back and work with the U21s.

Personally I think he will talk his way into the job as mid-season we won't really attract our key targets.

I think we have ourselves a chavs and de Mateo situation and Tiny Tim will get what he wants
