Clear that we’re only near 4th on the back of how shit everyone else is as opposed to us being anything better than bang average.
Said it a million times, you won’t achieve anything with mid table substandard players

VAR was never overturning that I'm afraid. The referee on-field had given a penalty, so the onus is to prove it wasn't. Even the look of minimal contact from Sarr's wild hack - and some angles suggest there is some tbh - and they're sticking with the decision that was made on the pitch.

It was all pretty minimal and from the replays clearly a marginal call. But, crucially after it had been given, no clear cut evidence he'd got it wrong either.

Been obvious for a long time that we carry players in certain positions who are not really good enough if we want to improve. Dier, Hojbjerg, Davies and Lenglet (less of an issue because don't see him here next season) truth be told are squad players who are getting too much game time if we want to progress. Perisic is past his sell by date for this league but again less of an issue with Udogie arriving in the summer. Didn't think Skipp was great today but at 22 and coming back from injuries, think he needs to be given more time. Same with Sarr. Sessegnon still only 22 but just appears it's never going to happen for him at us.

For me, the club need to have an honest conversation this summer regarding the likes Dier, Hojbjerg and Davies and what they see their roles at the club. I don't want to see any of them as regular first team starters next season. These 3 are not going to get better, are not good enough to be starting on a regular basis but for me are ok as squad options for cups.

Dier is getting a new contract 😂

But we can't sack Conte because we beat Nottingham Forest
Thats what makes this the best forum, last week it was all perfect, Conte in, we smashed Forest and all is well. Anyone saying it was “Only Forest” was brushed to the curb - “That’s the best we’ve played this season”

A week later the pitchforks are back out and we’re the worst team in the world. Get rid of Conte and his hair.

Such a rollercoaster.

Dier speaking to Premier League productions: "Sloppy mistakes. We lost possession easily, we didn't have control of the game at 3-1 when we should have. Really poor goals.

"We shouldn't let them back into the game. They lost both their centre-backs and we should cause them a lot more problems. We only have ourselves to blame.

"There will be lots of ups and downs for everybody fighting for top four and relegation. It will definitely go down to the last couple of weeks of the season. We need to find some consistency."
We've found consistency Eric - we consistently set up like cowards, no matter the level of the opposition, and usually drop points.

Rank corruption. Ref and VAR wanted to change the result so they changed it.

Climb in on Conte all you want but I don’t think we’re watching a sport here.
Rubbish. The ref and VAR cant stop us playing better football, they dont make us sit back and play ultra defensive.

I think you are a bit harsh on Skipp and Forster to be fair. Forster I thought was pretty decent in the sticks and I though Skipp was the more available CM and moved the ball around well at times. I thought Hojbjerg was fairly poor today, hiding at times and continuing to pass backwards.

I am being a bit harsh, sure. Not sure Skipp moved the ball around well today though, thought he made a couple of decent challenges but on the ball was very poor, often in the same zone as hoj and his passing wasn’t crisp at all.

Watching Everton now and they transition from the back to the midfield with more confidence and ability than we do.

(Just saying: kompany looking cool on the sidelines right now …)
Missed the game despite my intentions to watch it. From what I’ve read we crumbled (?) …

I listened to “A View From The Lane” podcast Thursday, and one of the guys from The Athletic thought it would be a draw, and from that result, would see the end of Conte. It wouldn’t be the most disastrous of a result (draw) and would allow a more attack minded coach come in now, and try and make 4th with what games we have left. He maintained a win would give Conte a stay of execution. It’s so clear Conte dosent want to be here.
He looked pretty pumped up when we scored our 3rd though. But , big picture, I agree that he wants out at the end of season

There was contact in full honesty, there was one angle which showed it, kicked his ankle
I don’t think those should be given as penalties, he’s going to clear the ball, player jumps from behind, out of his peripheral and taps the ball. He’s not going anywhere with it and Sarr isn’t making a challenge.

He’s paid plenty to coach them so that they’re able to do exactly that. He’s also paid plenty to deploy tactics which make that task easier. He’s doing neither, and has done neither for far too long.
To be fair I don't think he's ever claimed to be someone who coaches. He drills. He drills and he drills and he drills.

I just can't see Paratici sacking him whilst we're still able to finish 4th.
