I wonder if the motivation for this thread is to generate as many obnoxious posts as possible about one of the success stories from our academy: a local boy with a moderate amount of talent who was enabled, as a result of his own determination and the quality of the instruction he obtained from our academy coaches, to turn himself into a decent Premiership-standard midfielder.

It's a bizarre choice of subject for a thread, because of course we should not re-sign Livermore. We've moved on. We're a much better side now and, even when we were one notch down the quality scale, he wasn't a regular, first-choice starter. It scarcely demands a moment's consideration.

So I'm highly suspicious of the original post. I suspect it's just an malicious excuse to troll up some gratuitous abuse for a good footballer.

Let's just pat the club on the back for producing yet another successful professional footballer whose achievements are at least a great as his talent.
no, if you look at my post history you will find i have always been a supporter of Livermore, when he was at the club.

We obviously dont need him right now and he wanted to leave because he wanted first team football. If it wasn't for that I would have been happy for him to stay instead of wasting money on Stambouli. No one knows how he might have developed under Poch.

I'm all for him coming back as long as Timmeh coaches him. Think Zokora could do a job too.

Thanks for your interest Jake, we'll forward this onto recruitment. We do our best to get back to everyone, but if you haven't heard from us in 2 weeks, just assume you weren't successful.

Ok. Serious reply :

I happenned to watch Hull quite a lot this season. Livermore is a transformed player & much much improved player this season - after coming back from the ban he had. He certainly looks comfortable in CB role but it is in DM he has really excelled for them. Hull struggling is mainly down to their forward line & injuries. If its one thing that can get Hull out of the relegation zone ,its their tidy football in middle of the park with Livermore, Hudd & Clucas.
His long range passing has improved-Hull's goal against WBA 2 weeks back perfect example of that...

Don't think we should/will take him back, for his own improvement. But I wont be surprised if his career trajectory is on the up now on in.

He scored for us against Barcelona in a friendly and the reporter asked him "how does it feel to score against the best team in the world?"

Jake answered "I play for the best team in the world".

I am glad his career is back on track.

I don't see the need for all the condescending comments about Livermore

He was a youth product and life long supporter who loved the club

He always gave his all for the club

He wasn't shit and he isn't shit, he's just not as good as the excellent options we already have in his postion nor do we lack cover there

He's not someone we should sign at this time but I don't understand all the water boy comments mugging him off like he was shit like Gary Doherty

I like the guy and loved him in our shirt, but the negative comments are more an indication that we have moved on significantly as a club and it just seemed like a weird suggestion based on where we are and where we want to be!
