I voted mildly and there are various reasons for that, one being that if we bring people in then it needs to be the right person. If that means waiting till the Summer then I don't care. We have to stop buying players who we end up wanting to get rid of in a year or two's time. January is hard to get quality in and deals are so complex anyway especially in January. So I'm mildly optimistic but if deals don't come off then I'm not reaching for kitchen scissors to gauge my eyes out till September.

One thing that has occurred to me since this morning is that Levy will really have nowhere to hide if we don't pull off a notable signing this month. Not just hiding from the fans (which will be very vocal in the stadium and elsewhere) but with Conte, who has already been vocal in the media.

Worryingly I think we might end up signing someone who we don't exactly need but is a big enough name to placate the above.

Would love 2-3 new signings or even one, however its not the end of the world if there aren't any as this transfer window is not an easy one to get quality unless you pay way over the top.

I think there's already been a few signings showing that's not the case already this Window. My concern is more about how Conte will react if we don't sign anyone.

This is the summer 2018 window all over again. To not have a single deal completed by now is astonishing.

Surely even Levy can’t be impressed?

ITK this last couple of days has given me a real lift after a fairly rubbish few weeks. Thanks guys. Been a fan and glued to this site twice a year for far too many years to know it can still all go tits up in the final hours, but those updates from @Trix @Hercules and co. are appreciated.

Just imagine if we do sign a couple of new players and Leicester, Man U, Arsenal and West Ham all don't, I imagine their fans will be more annoyed than we all were a couple of days ago.

But other clubs have clear targets and sign all the players they want within a day or two of wanting them...... Or has all I have read on here about other clubs transfers been a lie :cautious: o_O

West Ham rumoured to have offered £50 million for BOTH Calvin Philips and Raphinia. Irrespective of the fact, these are players I wish we were targeting, we really don't want them to get either of them in January.

I like the look of what we’re doing. More defensive solidity in midfield, more threat once we get forward.

Just concerned that the bit in between, from defence to attack, is 95% reliant on our wing backs and the right side is a total attacking bust.

Which ones would you say are those and that we had a chance with?

That’s a different point made there. My disagreement is with the narrative of it being hard to get decent players in this window. Coutinho, Vlahovic, Trippier, Digne, Diaz and Traore are all quality players that have already moved club. We’re also likely to see several more move tomorrow, just hoping that some of them are to us.

Mood...chilled.

I have read the ITK throughout the window, allowed myself to actually digest what was actually being said, applied the mandatory sprinkle of salt, and sat back and awaited for things to unfold later in the Window.

The window where things usually don't hot up until the last few days.

If we can offload 3 of Gil, Ndombele, Lo Celso and Dele, and bring in Kulusevski, Bentencur and one more (hopefully a RWB or a superstar opportunity loan!), I think this will be an extremely successful winter window. Failure to offload the surplus players will be the most difficult thing IMO.

Please also note Kevin Phillips comment

''When asked about Tottenham’s business in the winter window, Phillips told Football Insider: “I think it is difficult to get good deals in January.

“But when you make it common knowledge that you want to sign players then clubs you are talking to hike their prices up.

“Clubs will sense Spurs are desperate to sign players so they might end up paying over the odds.''

A lot of people can say a lot of things, but in reality this window a lot of quality players have already moved for market prices and no doubt we'll see a few more today.

Each to their own counsel and what they need to believe then.

The 4 outs are absolutely brilliant for squad morale to have a squad who are all in the managers plans all pulling together.

The 2 Juve boys are top signings and if we can add a RWB to that before the deadline then 8/10 window for me mabye even 9/10 considering how tough Jan can be.

If we don't sign a RWB or at least one more and just have the 2 Juve boys then its more of a 7/10 window all things considered.

Gil, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Alli all out and we've got a couple of Juve reserves in.

Unless we get a couple of real good players in this window is scary, all our ‘technical' players have gone.

It might work but it has the potential to bite us hard.
