The truth is that we now have a better player in Capoue to play the DMF role and he clearly cannot be relied on due to him picking up injuries, as sad as it is we are doing the right thing by moving him on.

I love Sandro like everybody else. But to echo other posters he never seems to be able to complete a whole season due to injuries and I don't think he has a serious enough attitude. The pranks, jokes, songs are funny but it's a window into his mentality in the dressing room and on the pitch. I'm sure he's more popular in the dressing room for his larking about rather than the model professional/workhorse type we need our players to look to as a leader/professional..

I would sell Paulinho and Dembele in a heart beat over Sandro. To have Schneiderlin Capoue and Sandro competing for 2 positions in that deep lying midfield would be better than having Dembele dribbling all over the pitch then passing sideways or Paulinho doing sweet fa for 3/4 of the season

As much as I love Sandro, it's worth remembering that his knees are fucked. We should jump at any serious offer.

On what evidence? I've seen Capoue have a couple (at most) of great games for us, but also several poor ones. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt in that his poor games were after returning from injury, but the same can be said of Sandro. He was fantastic before his injury, but hasn't reached the same heights after it. If Capoue deserves another chance, then I think Sandro does also.

I don't see how he is fucked? He played more than Kaboul last year and in the last 4 years has played more than him despite two serious injuries and Tim completely Dim deciding not to play him. He should definitely be given the chance this year and if he can't hold his place down let him go Jan or end of the season.

I'm as gay for Sandro as the next guy, but his injury problems have been a recurring theme of his career. Capoue was notorious for never missing a game due to injuries in France. But you know, we seem to turn everyone into Darren Anderton, so I don't know if it means anything.

I do however have the sad feeling that the first half of the 2012/2013 season was as good as it got for Sandro.

Capoue is a better passer than Sandro. I thibk Sandro is in the mould of more of an old skool DMF he does a great job in front of the defence but his distribution isn't on the same level, especially in an age where most teams are asking for their DMF's to start attacks their passing skills need to up to scratch. Capoue simply does a better job at it as well as being a screen in front of the defence.

Sandro WAS quality and when fit he still is. We all love the beast but this is the beast of old. I would like to see him and Morgan in midfield but if I had to choose I'd choose the Frenchman these days

Sandro was good and fit the old system. Now though, he's struggling for fitness and how will he hold up in a system like Poch's where the CMs have to run all over the field for 90 minutes.

If I'm not mistaken Schneiderlin lead the league in distance travelled, do you really think Sandro could do the same?

If we get rid if Sandro we will regret it massively.

Imo, he's a top, dm and I'd like to see what Poch can do with him.

Paulinho can go as he offers nothing other than the odd goal and that's not enough.

If anyone can be bothered, look up games with and games without Sandro and I'm sure we lose more and concede a lot more without him.

For me, along with Lloris, Vertonghen and Eriksen, Sandro is an untouchable in our team and I think it'd be madness to get rid.

Only excuse would be if his knee is proper fucked. Capoue hasn't proven himself in the league yet. Pauli definitely hasn't. I don't want to end up like Chelsea, moving on top striking talent because they've spanked money on Torres

Why do people think Sandro isn't best suited to Poch's system? Have you seen Victor Wanyama play? Poch spunked £12m on him!

Sandro is twice the player Wanyama is.....

Good point. Person didn't elaborate when he told me but could be one of those 'one his way out' injuries rather than 'utterly fucked right now' - if that makes any sense!

If his knee isn't healing back to 100% and he'll never make it to his pre-injury fitness again, what makes you think he'll be able to run as much as Pochettino's system requires? That's just asking for disaster.

I love Sandro, and he's always been one of my favorite players period. But it's probably best for him and the club to part ways. Sandro is good enough to hold the line for a top team in Italy, while he'll probably not get too many looks in for us.

I feel the same way about Dembele. It's best for both players to move on as they don't fit the system and won't see too much game time.

And it's about time we start giving our youth a proper chance.

So the general feeling is if Sandro is indeed fit and healthy HE SHOULD STAY but if is he indeed crooked and unable to regain full game fitness we should sell him on.
