Anyone else relieved we can finally put to bed this shambolic season? If somehow we would of won today we would of had that false sense of hope that 4th was still on the cards when in fact realistically we were never good enough to get 4th. We most definetly will lose to Liverpool and I'm almost certain we will drop points in the "winnable" games so 4th was never really going to happen. I'm just glad in a way I can enjoy the rest of the season as a neutral watching the title race unfold seeing heart break from the other clubs and just forget about Spurs until the summer. I couldn't give a fuck if we come 5th, 6th or 7th to be honest and we are already out the Europa so season is officially over!!!! I am looking forward to a fresh start hopefully under Lois Van Gaal and get rid of the crap infesting our club.

Yes, but it makes me sad to know that we will probably lose some good players (i.e. Lloris) by not making CL in a season that held so much promise, with no real standout team at the top of the league.

If only AVB hadn't been so pigheaded...

Not bothered mate. Apart from maybe Eriksen who in this spurs side would you be sad to see go? Lloris is replacable as good as he is. So is Vertonghen. We don't have any outstanding players like previously ie Modric, Berbz, Bale and VDV. Those were players we have missed but this current crop are not good enough to lace the boots of the players mentioned above.

Nahhh fuck this shit.

I'm an eternal optimist and won't write off the season until things are numerically impossible regarding any kind of qualification.

We have had better years but blimey we've had far worse.

...... not with a team that has finished 4th 5th 4th 5th and then had over a £100m spent on it we haven't

I think I'd rather we finished 7th than 5th. The current format of the Europa League nearly always seems to have a negative impact on our PL form.

Totally agree - it's been a great benefit to Liverpool this season (in addition to having a bit of pace in attack).

We need to go in to the Benfica all guns blazing otherwise our season is as good as over on thursday. Then I would consider playing some more youth tbh

Yeah, as much as I'd like to win it - it's probably time to sort out our form on our own shores for a season before we think about Europe. Just ground the club again.

Its a relief the season is finished but I'm still majorly pissed off at losing to them today. They are average

I wouldn't be laying the blame on just AVB... everyone from Joe Lewis down deserves some flak. This season has been one giant act of self sabotage

I see your point, but the way we've looked this season, I don't think we would've been that much better off without EL. With a proper manager I think we have a decent chance of winning it next year, so I'm hoping for a top 6 finish.

I know what the OP means, but I'm still pretty gutted at how a season of so much promise has ended like this, when we're glad it's pretty much over before Easter.
Can't be a good thing really.

It sure would ground our club, probably for years and would also make sure no ground is turned on the new stadium.

I will only feel relief when I see on the official site that Tim Sherwood is no longer our manager. Until then, the embarrassment continues.

Let me guess, you're one of those people who think Fraser Forster is on the same level as Lloris.

Lloris is a genuine, indisputable, world class keeper. There are probably only about 5 on the planet, and if you think any of the others would sign for us, you are very much mistaken.
