Normally I would agree with you, but I do think there is a legitimate argument that had the team selections been different this year and had certain signings been made we would be on a better points total than we are now.

Maybe, maybe not. We'll never know but I think we're doing good this season given the circumstances. I agree that the transfer window was a bit of a mess though.

Yep, Redknapps lost it, sack him!
I mean, being joint 4th, seven points clear of 6th with a game in hand, and in a season hit by injury after another, is nothing short of disgrace from Redknapp.

Why does Redknapp favour some players though? It is because they work hard for him. This is the thing that all managers look for first and foremost when selecting their teams, not just our Aitch.

Very occasionally you accommodate a lazy fecker like Le Tissier because their quality is so much higher than the rest you have, but can we really say that about the likes of Pav?

Lazy Pav won three 50-50 balls in less than 15 minutes on the field. If that is lazy I will have lazy anyday to hardworking for whole 90 minutes and won nothing. You need brains to play football not just determination and dog-like work rate running about like a headless chicken.
When Pav lay the ball to Niko, he also pulled away one defender by making a run thus creating the space for Niko to shoot.

that does not mean he is beyond criticism mate. H.R in my opinion has reached his level and will take us no further. a bit like Houllier was at pool. we are winning games in spite of Redknapp.

Brilliant.

So we're winning games in spite of Redknapp, Defoe, Crouch, Jenas, Palacios etc etc. Doing well considering we're a bunch of ****s aren't we.

I agree no-one is beyond criticism, but how can you say Redknapp has taken us as far as he can go? After 2 seasons? 2 seasons?? The first of which we were at the bottom of the league when he took over and almost certainties for relegation. We're still 5th, on the same amount of points as Chelsea in 4th, last 16 of our very first CL (which Redknapp took us to in case you forgot), winning without King, Woodgate, Modric, Huddlestone, Bale, Kaboul etc. We've all those to come back but nooooo, he's taken us as far as he can.

I despair at this site and our fans sometimes.

It seems those against Redknapp when he was 1st appointed, have now thought that the failings of the transfer window are his fault and the catalyst to now express what they've wanted since he joined.

We shouldn't be joint fourth. We should be in the top 2.

Yes because, we've been competing for the premiership year in year out, and it just happens overnight going from managing to challenge for the top 4, balance a 1st season on the CL and be in the top 2 overnight. :bang:

Of course you're right. We haven't dropped stupid points all over the shop.

No different to stupid points dropped last season aswell, no different to the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Man U dropping stupid points.

What can't he trust Pav to do that he can trust Defoe to do. I have never seen Defoe at his best play better than Pav at his best.

How the fuck can he expect a player to give him his all when he knows he's going to be dropped for a featherweight favourite anyway.

He's told you this, himself: "Pav, Pav, run abat abit, fer fcuk sake":hump:

Look, I never said I 100% agree with him, but, as I said, he clearly feels it and it's his decision. As I say every singly time one of these threads comes up on Pav - I actually like 'Super-Pav' and wish Aitch would give him a serious run in the team (c'mon 'Arry, unleash the Pav...you know it makes sense:wink:), but that doesn't mean I can't try to put myself in 'Arry's position and understand it from his point of view. JD looks dangerously lightweight on occasions, but Pav sometimes does look disinterested - 'Arry clearly prefers the former (as said elsewhere, Gawd knows what he'd have made of BerbaGit:shrug:).

Stupid dropped points happen, every single team can look back and say, 'if only'.

Your comment about stupid points is incredibly relevant today though, considering we were 4-0 up away from home yesterday and wo......that wasn't us? ah ok.....

We can't be using that as an excuse.

Yeah, because challenging for the premiership is a doddle, its easy, just like on FM, how can any other team take points from anyone thats currently higher or finished higher last season.

Christ if we won all our games, we'd be top, go figure.

So why has Harry gone from saying we're title challengers to saying we have it all to do to finish in the top 4? What's happened there?

If it suits your argument = 'Arry tells the truth
If it doesn't suit your argument = 'Arry lies

No-one knows why 'Arry says the things he does, only 'Arry knows. Is he telling the truth? is he lying? is he playing mind games? is he trying to send a message to certain players? is he bored? has he got a bet on to see how many song lyrics he can put into his interviews? is he desperately trying not to twitch? who knows.
