Maybe if Pav had started the game, we wouldn't have spent most of the game fretting about missed chances

he could be referring to any of the hundreds of players he has coached over the years to be fair.

yep also agree with HR on this one.
Was at the game and although delighted we got the win it didn't look like it at all and Pav looked very disintrested.

No we can't. Pav isn't lazy. People use the lazy tag when they don't like a player but don't have any facts to back it up. You can't disprove "lazy". Berbatov was "lazy" but yet he ran all over the pitch. Kanoute was "lazy". Mido was "lazy".

I've seen running length statistics with Pav as one of the top 3 in our team, so you're right, he's not lazy!

Perhaps if the chances that should have gone in had gone in, and we'd been over the hills and far away at half-time, you would have an idea. Or perhaps you wouldn't.

The last time we were on this kind of league form a lot of SC members weren't even thought of, and yet all some of you can do is blub about how nasty Mr Redknapp isn't giving your favourite player a chance. Well boofuckinghoo.

Have to agree with SS on this.

I like Carlo (dunno why, just thought he was a good goalie at Chelsea and unlucky to always be the bridesmaid). but is he actually better than the Octopus = NO. Does it stop me liking the Octopus, too = NO. Do I think 'Arry has avendetta against him = NO. Do I hope he is still out riding his 5000CC bikes at 4AM, but not getting caught and not having any accidents whilst he's our reserve 'Keeper = YES. Do I get major league peeved at folk who don't understand that a reserve 'Keeper is just that and come on here biatching about him, not realising (IMHO) that we are lucky to have a reserve 'Keeper of his quality = YES:grin: DO I accept that we are on a seriously good run of form, and I probably don't really see as much as 'Arry does, as he works with the players every day, and that I probably don't really understand as much as him as he has been a professional in the footballing World nearly all of his considerable working life, and I am, comparatively, just an interested amateur =YES.

Thought Pav was decent when he came on, had that nice give and go on the edge of the area and some greeat vision to spot Niko out the corner of his eye.

The mistake was our back for didn't actually notice that Crouch had gone off and continued whooshing the ball in his previous direction for at least ten minutes.

I can't blame them, when he was on the pitch the same thing happened so they probably just thought "typical crouch"

Yes

Harry is right, we lost our focal point and the ball kept going straight to bolton. We just weren't retaining the ball well enough. We had some nice link up play here and there, but that was more to do with Piennar and Kranks rather than Pav.

Because Pav isn't a midfielder. It's Piennar and Kranjcars job to do that, it's Pav's job to make a good run, get the ball, score.

You can't blame Pav for other players losing possession. There's no reason they couldn't have passed it to Pav. How many times did Crouch come away with the ball when someones lumped a ball in his direction? It either goes over him, he gets fouled, he fouls his marker, he heads it on to no one or he finds a team mate.

I don't know about that but if he was lazy he'd stick out like a saw thumb. Crouch doesn't run that far, not because he's lazy but because he's just slow.

In one of our CL games Pav came off and they bought his running stat up, it was much higher than the team average. If he was lazy it would be blow average or maybe slightly above but honestly I've never seen pav standing still when he shouldn't have been, I can't say the same of Corluka. Not that I'm saying he's lazy but maybe he just reluctent to make certain runs.

What can't he trust Pav to do that he can trust Defoe to do. I have never seen Defoe at his best play better than Pav at his best.

How the fuck can he expect a player to give him his all when he knows he's going to be dropped for a featherweight favourite anyway.

if anything, we lost our shape because Palacios came off and we were playing with 3 wingers and two strikers. its unfair to blame that on Pav. mostly I think the guys were just tired.

Pav is a cry baby. Whenever he is not playing he wants to leave. He comes on today and can't pass, can't trap a ball. Nice lay off for Niko though.
For all of you Crouch haters - I have no clue what game you watch? He was very good today causing all sorts of trouble to the Bolton big guys.
As soon as he went off the ball kept coming back to us.

Its funny, other teams know if you beat crouch to a header, its like playing with no strikers

I have never seen a team kick it more diagonally to a player constantly, we are 1 DIMENSIONAL, this was proved against united when continued to pass to crouch and he continuously failed to win it

At liverpool when he did start to score the crosses we below his shoulders and most of them were volleys

Rubbish. If you were constant playing second fiddle to striker in, arguably, the worst form of the league, and you think you could do something for the side in their place do you not think it is frustrating?

i did write a big paragraph out on why crouch is so shit.... but its pointless even trying to get it across to people who have probably never played football at a decent level, and dont watch a game past opta 'stats' and motd punditry.

pav >>>> heskey >>>> crouch

I'd be surprised if Dilly Dally Arry is our manager a year from now. Everything he does smacks of short-termism.

Pecking order. Coaches always have a pecking order and it is usually slow to change.

That indeed happened a lot when we tried to hoof the ball to Pav or Defoe. But what also happened was that every time we played the ball on the floor we created chances and eventually scored. If "Crouchy gives us another option" let's not keep trying to play as he was still on the pitch when in fact he was long gone.

I really can't understand people sometimes. We've just won two hard games, one away in a place that we usually struggle and another against a decent Bolton side while having three of our best players injured, and all people can do is moan. The negativity here is unbelievable really.
You people understand that it's the results that matter. As long as we're getting the results, I don't care that who's playing.

Normally I would agree with you, but I do think there is a legitimate argument that had the team selections been different this year and had certain signings been made we would be on a better points total than we are now.
