Yes our best season under him - ever since then it's not worked, that's both under him and Jose. Just stop playing it.

We've barely played it since then. The problem is the squad isn't balanced or good enough.

Under Poch there was one constant, no matter the formation. When Eriksen played well, so did Spurs. When Eriksen didn't play well, Spurs generally didn't play well. Eriksen is gone and was poor for 18 months before he left. We haven't replaced him. Same goes with the DM. That best year under Poch we had Wanyama firing on all cylinders protecting the back three. We haven't replaced him. We had flying full backs, we haven't replaced them.

The best formation for us in this mess would be 4-4-2 with two support FB's and a DM in the middle. But we don't have the right wingers or forwards to play 4-4-2. Basically, we're fucked no matter what formation. We don't have the FB's for 532, 4231 or 433. Nor do we have a DM required to play ANY formation.

the three at the back isn't the problem. the problem is our players, in turn, sometimes even more than one in each game, seem hell bent on making basic fucking errors.

you cant play with 3 across the back and have all 3 of the muppets just constantly backpeddling, they have to commimicate and one of them has to step out and cover that area, it isn't that hard to comprenhend what the hell do they do in training
