Lloris - 7 - Clean sheet. I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt for Gallagher's shot and assume he read it as going wide.
Doherty - 7 - Didn't offer enough with the ball until his assist (would be a 6 without that).
Alderweireld - 7.5 - Solid and consistently came out on top in aerial duels.
Dier - 8.5 - As per Alderweireld, but made the crucial goal-line clearance and appeared to win even more duels.
Reguilon - 7 - Decent performance, but nothing quite came off in the final third today.
Hojbjerg - 8 - Another industrious performance. Must be one of the first names on the team-sheet every week.
Sissoko - 5.5 - Too slow and conservative with the ball. Possibly makes fewer driving runs when Ndombele is playing.
Ndombele - 6 - Moments of creativity and some nice turns in the middle of the park, but a tough game for him overall.
Son - 5 - Made minimal impact on the game and wasted a great chance in the 13th minute. If Jose could make 5 subs (as per EL) I'm certain he would have been pulled off.
Bale - 5.5 - Movement and passing were good at times, but rarely looked threatening.
Kane - 7.5 - A lot of hard work with little to show for it, until he instinctively flicked home the winner. Scored his only chance of the game, as the best strikers have a habit of doing.

Subs:
Lo Celso - 6.5 - Added some urgency and fluidity to our play. Snatched at his shot, but the bounce was awkward.
Vinicius - 6 - Gave West Brom's defence something extra to think about and occupied a CB for Kane's goal. At 1-0, he blasted a shot high and wide when it really wasn't on - should have played it to Moura at the far post or looked to the left flank / corner flag to run down the clock.
Moura - 6 - Added more energy and urgency to our attacks.

7.5- Lloris very good save from the flicked header. Lucky the gallagher shot was on the right side of the post.

8.5 Motm-Dier looks very much the part. Read the game superbly.
8-Toby no nonsense defending at it's finest.
7.5- Reggie he's a stud.
7.5- Doherty had a handful of crucial moments.

8- PEH Everything u want in a number 6. Despite wearing the number 5.
5-Sissoko Slows everything down. Doesnt find pockets of space to exploit. Works hard defensively, but we need so much more in these sort of games.

6.5- N'Dombele the few attacking moments we did have, came directly through an inspired bit of play through him. We just to see more of those moments.
5-Bale poor in general. Unlucky not being able to thread that outside of the foot throughball to kane. But he just lacked that sharpeness and aggression.
4-Son love son but his touch and decision making was weak today. We need to see the best from after the break.
7-Kane clutch winner, worked really hard all game. Few nice nutmegs. Shooting wasnt quite good enough bizarrely.

6-GLC not quite at it yet.
6.5 Vinicious good closing down, very good effort. Very solid premier league debut.
NET- Moura.

Always frustrating when you take so long to break through against one of the worse sides but even if we weren’t superb, I reckon we win that game by a few goals and this thread looks very different, and that could well have been the case. Bale an inch away from a Kane cross, good saves by the goal from Reguilón and Vinicius, Reguilón shot going in until blocked, Lo Celso and Son both missing sitters, we had good chances crafted by decent football throughout and were undone by some profligacy, some poor luck and some good defending. West Brom in that time shaved the post with a very good long shot, had one cleared off the line from a mishit cross and forced one good save from a corner.

Lloris, one odd punch aside, dealt with the little he needed to calmly. One great reaction save from a header at a corner.

Doherty was solid defensively, first half a bit clumsy on the ball, second half linked better and hit a good cross for the winner.

Alderweireid dealt with Perry much everything he needed to without really leaving first gear. Very intelligent performance and looks on form.

Dier pulled off a very good header on the line in a situation that wouldn’t have been contemplated to ensure we stayed level, and like Toby dealt with most Rose with ease.

Reguilón bombed forward well, could’ve had a goal, was always an option in the final third and made a couple of good recovery runs. Didn’t enjoy the physical battle in the air v their right winger... welcome to British football Sergio.

Sissoko didn’t do anything wrong per se, and defensively he was solid (though a couple of misread aerial balls gave me palpitations) but going forward or attack fizzles out by the time he decides what to do and sadly he sees a tonne of the ball. I actually think his only really attacking weapon, his pace, has gone, or at least his ability to accelerate quickly, and so he’s not even good in transitions now.

Højbjerg was his usual reliable and intelligent self of the ball, really don’t think anything got passed him, but he faltered a touch by his standards on the ball. Nothing disastrous but a couple of sloppy moments. Shows how high a standard he’s already set for me to even notice.

Bale want riproaring but he’s being overly criticised. He made good runs all match, his touch was good and the only passes he didn’t get spot on where the most adventurous ones, with some decent link up play and good variation of the play too. Even had a successful dribble. Then off the ball he intercepted, blocked and cleared, things his opposite on the other side didn’t do.

Ndombele was ok, some very nice eye catching moments and worked hard out of possession, but he just doesn’t seem natural being played off Kane. I think if he plays deeper he sees another 50% of the ball and has far more opportunity (and space) to make something happen. Singled out for rough treatment through which wasn’t nice to see.

Son was probably our worst player, poor touch, indecisive, unambitious, just didn’t seem the same player who was torturing defenders a few weeks ago. It happens.

Kane wasn’t totally at it either, though probably the best of the front three. Still, some decent link to play, unselfish work in midfield and brilliant glanced header to win the game while being fouled by the defender.

Lo Celso improved us with his energy and ability to vary our attacks. From the moment he came on it was pretty much one way traffic. Really needs to but shut his eyes for that beautiful chance though.

Lucas didn’t get up to too much, one nice run from deep to get us going but that was about it.

Vinicius looked busy and did well on his shot.

We have a serious issue in midfield when sissoko plays. If he's not hiding then he's ignored because the rest of the team knows he'll simply play every pass back the way it came. This means the opposition can double up on Tanguy and deny him the time and space to do any damage. The sooner we field a starting XI rather than a X plus sissoko, the better.

Very encouraging to see Dier playing well. It's weird that he seems more involved and you dont really notice Alderweireld. Bot sure if that's good or bad about toby

We will only truly be in full flow if we get another forward player or start tanguay with gio

I get that 3 points is what ultimately matters especially in games like today’s but that’s 3 Premier League games in a row against relegation candidates where we have struggled to control the midfield and then struggled to create chances. With Kane dropping deep we are outnumbering teams in the middle and yet we do not dominate possession. I also don’t understand why we need two sitting midfielders against this level of opposition. Hojberg my MOM btw.

Whole heartedly agree with this. I feel Kane dropping deep is limiting Ndombele’s space to operate and he would be better deployed deeper. Admittedly Kane dropping has led to a fair few goals but it is stifling Ndombele’s ability to get on the ball.

Really like Dier at Center Back and feel he improve more, the more he plays together with a regular partner like Toby. Only worry is the lack of pace at C.B against fast strikers. Dier MOM for me.

Shouldn't think Moura was far off that after replacing him.

For criticism of Moussa , substitute John Pratt under Bill Nicholson back in late 60's , often picked by Bill and usually made the scapegoat , looks like managers and coaches see things in players not obvious to us fans

Quite a funny quote by Bill Nick on the wiki page.

It's only showing 4 passes completed by Moura , it must be successful passes, not say a pass played into space that doesn't get to a team mate.
That would make sense as Moura came on with his shoes on the wrong feet.

Still can’t “un-see” that cameo. My god.
