I'll take a 3-0 win any day. I thought there were some really good performances, Kane and Winks (again) in particular.

If Jose wants to give up posession to these types of teams that's fine, but we have to be much better at keeping it when we have it, especially in our defensive 3rd, yes Leciester pressed well but we gave the ball away far too many times and if not for Hugo it could have been 3-3 at half time.

Winks? You sure?

I gave it to Hugo but could have easily given it to Harry. For me, it was the timing of Hugo's saves. We were up by one when he made the save against Vardy's back heel and then around the 25th minute, the sprawling save on (i believe) Perez's shot. I suspect that he is also taking a stronger leadership position in the back too, but that is an uninformed opinion. The defense does look more organized and he does look to be communicating better with his backs. But Harry's goals were something to behold as were his passes and there is zero argument with those that picked him. COYS

I have been very vocal in my criticism of Jose's tactics but I have to admit that I am beginning to see progress. It certainly isn't the kind of football that I enjoy, but I can at least see a platform from which we might play in a more entertaining way.

We are looking organised at the back and people seem to understand where they should be in our defensive shape. There were a few instances in the first half where Moura and Aurier let themselves get pulled out of position and Leicester got in behind. There were also a few occasions in the second half where we let them have a bit too much space in the middle and they put us under pressure. But we seem much more able now to make adjustments mid-game to deal with things.

In attack, we looked slick, sharp and dangerous and could have a couple more goals. Its the best attacking display I've seen from us for quite a while.

Interestingly we would be in the top 4, despite the injuries, if the season had started when Mourinho took over. You would have to think that had we not suffered so many key injuries we would have probably been in the top 3.

My hope is that we can add some key players; 2 fullbacks, a DM and a striker, and it will improve our play and allow us to l be a bit more aggressive and to control possession.

We are in a good run of form and you would hope that we can beat Palace on the last day and secure Europe league football for next season.

In all honesty, I thought Kane was MotM, but I gave my vote to Lloris because I knew that voting here would be overwhelmingly in favor of Kane and I thought that Lloris also deserved recognition for such masterful performance.

This is all I really wanted, a positive end to our season in which we could see the foundations for what I expect will be a far more successfull 2020-2021 season for us.

Great game. Another clean sheet. The most complete team performance so far under Jose, and it'll only get better from here.
  1. Kane - 9 // Number one for MOTM with his brace. The 2nd goal in particular was sublime. His overall hustle, tenacity and creativity were a pleasure to watch.
  2. Moura - 8.5 // second best with 2 assists. Hustling, tracking back, disposessing opponents. Tremendous work rate on and off the ball. If he could only regain scoring composure in front of goal, he would be irreplaceable at the moment.
  3. Hugo - 8 // A couple of great saves today in the 2nd half. Young Hugo full of fire resurrected under Jose.
  4. Davies - 7.5 // Outstanding today protecting the back four. Easily his best game under Jose.
  5. Davinson - 7.5 // with the exception of 1 small error, very strong and organised today.
  6. The rest of the team - 7 // very good team effort.

We defended well, and Kane was clinical, but the scoreline flattered us against a Leicester team in poor form and badly weakened by injuries. I am yet to make up my mind on Mourinho as manager but we're not much fun to watch these days.

I think that was just Mourinho being Mourinho. He manages toward the opposition. He knew Leicester had to go for it. They needed to win and they had injuries at the back. Best cure for that is sometimes scoring more than you. So Jose set us up completely to play on the counter and it was killer in the first half before we let off.

Can’t argue with the F and the A column, that’s what matters in the end.

Kane, Son and Moura were good, with Kane back to near his best. Hugo made a couple of good saves, but needs to dominate his six yard box better. We defended very well, as a team.

Midfield three were really poor again, all look tired so the manager needs to sell who he doesn’t trust and bring in a couple he can go with otherwise they will be shit most games.

Hope the goons don’t steal our Europa place!

Good TEAM performance and with an upgrade on players like sissoko and Aurier, this team would be better. Not criticizing those 2 but just observing the squad and team display.
We just need a tweak here and there.
Jose has great knowledge of football: the other teams, their players strengths and weaknesses, their style and strategy: and setting up to make his team compact and efficient to win games.

I'm really looking forward to next season and hopefully with players he wants and gets, we will be stronger and hopefully silverwares can come our way.

Credit to Mourinho.
He takes the blame when the things went wrong pre lockdown.
He takes the credit when thing are going right post lockdown
.
One carp, after all the nonsense about Oliver Skipp this week
3-0 up at half.time he couldn't get on for more than 2 minutes.

Kane MOM 9
Moura and Lloris V.good 8
Sanchez and Toby pretty good pairing 7+
Davies more positive and much improved. Winks likewise 7+
Son, Sissoko and Aurier OK 7
Lo Celso struggled to get into the game 6+

Quite like this counter attacking thingy it suits the players we have.
and though it means long passages when we don't have the ball
it all then bursts into life.
Prefer the all action hard press but.....

great post - ending the season with a bit of form as we are makes me feel more optimistic that we dont need to spend big in the summer to compete again. If we can get a tune out of Ndombele, get Dele firing again and sort out the FB situation then i think we can start the new season with plenty of optimism though admittedly, this isnt the Spurs were used to in terms of style of play.

What I have noticed is that the teams like Liverpool And city plus others that press high with lets say 3 players you then have the rest of that team move up the field to compress the play so as there is not too big a gap between the lines .
This suits Jose's plan because he does not still continue to try to play out from the back whilst the press is on and put his own defence under pressure . No he is when the press is on quite happy to play long and take half the opposition out of the play .
One of the things that irritated the Poch side was the insistence on playing out from the back and immediately have the defence under pressure from teams with a high press and sometimes it was obvious some of our defenders did not have the skills or ability to play out from the back when under a high press . So playing a long ball from the goalkeeper is fine for me . It has been said before that our high possession stats were mainly under Poch with his instance of playing out from the back but of no threat to the opposition .

I think a back-up to Kane should also be on the list as well as a strong DM.
I think the future looks bright and yes we are optimistic.

Hugo again proving the doubters wrong.

The next person who says we should cash in on Kane should have their eyelids taped open and made to watch this match on repeat.
