Signed in just to give this the winner rating. It was a myth he couldn't last the 90 back then. I think Redknapp just said this to give Defoe some time off the bench. He was pure quality the whole way through and actually can't remember him having a bad game.I actually thought that was bullshit. There was one game where he was left on and I remember him working harder in the last few minutes than any other player.
Even so, I realise it's a bit sentimental to want him back, but stranger things has happened and when you compare his ability to the likes of Chadli, Siggy, infact all of our current midfielders bar Eriksen you remember how far we have fallen in terms of real quality players, let alone having world class outfield players.
Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool are all able to manage these types of players because they, and their winning mentality, not to mention ability, are central to them achieving success. Where as we just cast them aside and look for the next player who is going to get us success in an instant.
I totally agreePlease no Rafa

My goodness I loved him playing for us, showed passion and flair. For over 20 years I have supported spurs, I can vaguely remember gazza, I remember teddy, jurgen very well, modric berba n bale. But I was gutted when we sold him, really gutted. Probably even more so than the other players as I knew they would leave.
I was doubly gutted when he left, because our best ITK, JJ, was under the impression that the only reason we agreed to let him go was because we were signing Moutinho, who would have been perfect for us (and AVB).
I remember going to the Lane the day after VDV left (vs Norwich), and the mood before, during, and after the game was downright miserable. I think VDV leaving, and seemingly being replaced by Dempsey, pushed a lot of people over the edge.
I'd rather have Rafa only playing 60 minutes every other game than Sigurdsson.

But a true one!such a negative view etc.
I never said Sigurdsson was bad, I just said I would prefer Rafa.such a negative view etc.
