I know he's a bit older (albeit the same age as Yaya Toure) and his injury record isn't great (but so's Bale's) but his contract is due to run out soon and it's likely he'll be off.

Head says no but the heart says; lets just give it a go...

One of my favourite ever players. His technique is up there with the very very best.

I can't find the clips, but a stand out memory were two almost identical first time volleyed cross field passes in his last season for us.His forward thinking vision were one of the main reasons why we were able to split teams open as well as we did during that period, and why we struggle now.

Actually whilst we're at it we could also get Sneijder too.

Would love to get him back, but maybe it's better to cherish the memories. He's older now, and may not be as good as he once was.

He was struggling to complete 90 mins in the Prem three seasons ago, he would've been exhausted after 45 now.

I wouldn't take Rafa back on the sole purpose of not wanting him to ruin his legacy.
He's older and when he was in his prime; He struggled with stamina and with MOPO's pressing game, He sadly won't fit in.

Would take him back for Arsenal games, He showed more desires in those games than our whole squad showed this season.

I hope he returns some day in a coaching capacity. To be brutally honest, his best playing days are probably behind him now. Limited impact this season in a poor Hamburg team.

I actually thought that was bullshit. There was one game where he was left on and I remember him working harder in the last few minutes than any other player.

Even so, I realise it's a bit sentimental to want him back, but stranger things has happened and when you compare his ability to the likes of Chadli, Siggy, infact all of our current midfielders bar Eriksen you remember how far we have fallen in terms of real quality players, let alone having world class outfield players.

Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool are all able to manage these types of players because they, and their winning mentality, not to mention ability, are central to them achieving success. Where as we just cast them aside and look for the next player who is going to get us success in an instant.

If Pochettino's our next man I'm not sure VDV would fit in as he prefers to play freely and avoids getting too involved with the defensive side of things, whereas Pochettino will likely want us pressing and chasing down the opposition.

I'd love to have him back if the new manager wants him though, I think we could do with more experience in attack.

As for Sneijder, is he not on a big salary at Galatasaray? If he was within our reach then he'd be a dream signing for me. A bit like Davids he's a player who I've always loved to watch and seeing him in a Spurs shirt would have me celebrating like we'd won a trophy.

Frank De Boer says he is looking at bringing him in as a player for time being

Not surprising, I can imagine he'd still manage a fair few goals in the Dutch league. Closer to retirement though I can imagine he'd go the way of Stam and Van de Sar.

Sadly he's past it now and injuries have caught up with him.

I'd love him to be a coach here one day because he's simply a Spurs legend in my eyes.

Will probably be a starter for Holland at the World Cup, not bad for someone who is past it

Hope he goes back to Ajax, to fans that will appreciate him

Ok, so let's say FDB gets the WHL gig, bergkamp has already said he wouldn't come, FDB then throws a player/coach role to VDV, he'd help FDB immensely just from knowing how the clubs run.
Stranger things have happened...
