I think Wimmer would have stepped up at anytime.

Completely agree with the last paragraph and I can't understand the thinking behind wanting rid and certainly not announcing the fact we want rid.
The worst thing about the comment is that he refers to N'Jie as if he is in his plans even though he seems to be closest out the door

He also IMHO had leadership qualities and never gave up. He would chase every ball, tackle and break up play, and tell other players what to do. Big shame he's going.

sorry but i got to disagree with this. i haven't the time to go through every match he has ever played, but someone mentioned him having a good game v Liverpool away even though we lost 3-2. go watch the highlights on the Spurs site, never made enough/any effort to try and get to the goal scorer of the 1st goal, then look how he tried to make up for his slack pass against MU last season, and why your at it watch the Stoke equalizer last season, made no effort to try and get to the player that crossed it.

I'm talking about before he was injured. Last season was a write off as far as I'm concerned. (Unfortunately)

To be honest, the main reason I've never rated the guy is his chasing and closing down any loose passes he makes.

I can only remember 3 possibly 4 games where I was really happy with his performance, perhaps DCM isn't his best position, but I've never seen enough effort from him to oust Dembele, and from his attacking stats I don't see him as 1 of the 3 behind Kane.

The way he comes over to me, he believes he should start, and is not very happy being a squad player, and has most probably rubbed Poch up the wrong way. If Poch hadn't said what he has, I wouldn't of been shocked if Bentaleb requested a transfer.
