Very disappointed two talented players from our academy are going to be let go. I prefer to keep them longer rather than replace them with another two players with potential. Or maybe they won't be replaced, just sold to balance the books.

How long do you keep them if they don't fit your plans? Why do you keep them if they don't fit your plans?

I dont think he said that so bluntly in that manner. Im sure the media exaggerated it.

That said, its sad that he doesn't see Nabil having a future. There must be something else we dont know about him because talent-wise he is up there among the best apart from those few sillly goal-conceding moments. Shame.
To be fair he said something very similar about Lennon and Adebayor didn't he?

Maturity is great and at such a young age.. but what's his CM role, what's his position? I really can't see what he excels at..
Metronome. Getting on the ball, keeping it, finding a team mate in space, providing some cover, short-, medium- and a long-passing game and in his youth days attack on goal.

I used to watch him first and think "he has no pace, isn't that strong in the tackle, doesn't really attack so what does he do?"

But when you watch a 90min performance back two years ago, he was really very good at all the things I listed at only 19 - so the potential to become something really brilliant was there.

I suspect there are personality issues/problems between Pochettino and him, leading to this. He may never improve any further and stagnate.

What's gutting is that under Pochettino you really thought he was going to go somewhere (rather than out the door).

Why are you surprised about Bentaleb, when both his agent and him got the high pay-rise after 2014 season he had to deliver. Unfortunately he put country first got injured and expects Spurs to pick up the pieces. That would be acceptable I suppose but if he still attitude then he needs to get his agent to start earning his money!. Really hate these wannabes holding clubs to ransom!
He's a good player with some good skill at such a young age. Sadly he got injured but most players in his position (as in a premier league team and being a main player at one point) you would have hoped he would have tried harder to get back in the frame to play again. I can only assume he didn't show enough of the ability and effort that got him into the first team just over a season ago.

Very disappointed to see Bentaleb and Pritchard summarily dismissed so easily. They're both very talented young players who have serious potential.

This makes me think it's more than simple football involved here. Possibly attitude problems or at least demands from the players for first team appearances which couldn't be met and so they wanted out.

Still very disappointing though. Bentaleb for sure I feel will go on to be a top CM either in the PL or Europe.

If they don't fit into Poch's plans then they have to go, I am just saying what I would prefer. I know Bentaleb was in the bad books but I wonder what Pritchard did, I was looking forward to seeing him make his debut this season. Those two will have plenty of takers, I hope this decision doesn't come back to haunt us.

You would have thought by now that the players within the squad would have realised that you earn a place in the starting eleven and do not have a divine right to play. I think this is where Bentaleb has become surplus to requirements.

Really? Seeing them train, adhere to instruction - or otherwise - and engaging with them on a personal level every day for 18 months or even more is being 'summarily dismissed so easily?'

Spot on, it's not as if Poch hasn't seen them before. I have no issues with what decisions Poch makes on the players, and i don't really care if those payers released go on to better things. At the end of the day i could never see Pritchard being a regular PL player at Spurs, Fazio cannot play the high press and Bentaleb appears to have faded where players such as Dembele, Rose, Lamela, Dier have exceeded all expectations and have stepped up their game.

I see Bentaleb as a good Busquets... recycle the ball, keep possession. Sometimes his confidence got the better of him and he played a couple of hospital passes, but that sort of thing gets ironed out with experience rather quickly. Can only be that he's not onside with Poch in some way. Shame.

poch has obviously done a great job so far but he's not infallible. last summer lamela wasn't in his plans either and it was only the failure to land berahino that meant he didn't end up at marseille on loan.

It does occasionally have a nightmare with adverts. I haven't encountered it myself yet, but apparently with the odd advert some desktop users have had issues. It's bloody annoying and the ad team have been moaned at enough about it.

Or, answer a short question to read the rest of the article.
That I do truly despise. Apparently if you answer it once it's not meant to come back for a month or so although that hasn't always worked for me.

I'm sad Bentaleb will probably leave, but there's obviously more than meets the eye between he and Poch. Attitude issues probably.

The attitude issue was pretty plain to see. As soon as he got his 5 yr contract his on the pitch performances dropped off a bit. Would be willing to bet the same was the case for his training performances.

Cream rises and all that...from the look of the squad sent out to Australia we've got about 4 squad fringe players looking to break into the squad proper for next year (Onomah, Winks, Yedlin and Carrol) and 6-7 young players trying to break through to the fringe. The message seems to be that once you break into the squad you can't just rest on your laurels as the next cohort will come through to take your place. So that means Carrol and Winks know they have to keep pushing even once they secure a squad place.

Yes, publicly, it has been. I'm not talking about what Poch has said to them in private. I'm talking about the nature of his statement today.

He's 21 years old, and he played with great maturity a couple of seasons ago considering he was 19 back then. Made one of the CM spots his own. There's no doubt for me that he's talented.
He also IMHO had leadership qualities and never gave up. He would chase every ball, tackle and break up play, and tell other players what to do. Big shame he's going.
