Couple of times yesterday were you could see that Toby was looking for Dele to move into channels and him doing the "quarterback" pass. I miss those..

It was because nobody in midfield was making themselves available in space for a pass. Same thing happened to Dier so he had to smash it long a few times.

Toby's contract now is until june 2023 i think, and he's probably on a hefty whack.

If its Poch coming back he might be hard to transfer out without paying off some of his contract or subsidising his wages.

He could probably handle a few years more at the top in a slower league, i wonder if any kind of deal could be worked with PSG. They get him cheap, we get him off the books, they can handle his wages and he gets that "big" move he wanted and a few trophies.

I know Jose was looking at him for Man U but i couldn't help feeling that he gave him a contract at us as much to say "i'm the boss now not Pochettino" as it was because he rated him still.

Such a shame, his partnership with Jan didn't end with a trophy for them. Beasts, absolute beasts for a couple of seasons.

As hard as it might be to do I've always thought there was a simple brutal logic in signing an International sides starting CB pair if you possibly can even if you have to overpay a bit.

Was wondering what CBs would be on the outs. It's the thing that's been driving me most nuts this summer, even more than the manager!

Sanchez won't be cheap to move. Dier is off the back of a new contract. Tanganga could get a loan but would love for him to get games this year.

That leaves Toby, who's still arguably one of our top defenders, but with his current deal, seems the one you can move the "easiest" and after this season will have little to no resell value.

Hopefully a deal can be done quickly. All that said, he's been one of my favorite players - thanks for the service!!

Hopefully, around £10m for a fee and his wages will be nice to get off the wage bill

At 32 I think it suits everyone for him to move on this summer.

Only way we should sell him if he’s not in the first team plans. Only way that should be the case is if we sign two players as that article suggests.

Two years left on his deal, already 32, and his salary would probably cover both Andersen and Tomiyasu so it all makes sense, but what makes sense is not necessarily what’s best. We’ll see

Full on rebuild confirmed. Will be sad to see him leave. Would rather Dier or Sanchez go before him.
True but opportunities to get rid of who you want to are not always available.

I am glad we got another decent season out of him but it’s now time for him to move on.

Will remember him fondly if he does leave. Would absolutely need to be replaced in the side, though, and not from within the current squad.

Yeah I do agree with that. It's probably the right time for Toby to move on.
