Yeah but this is my point...we already knew he was lying, literally straight after he said it, the club Tweeted a video if him being back on Wednesday lol so he didn't need to be pulled up on him because by then it was obvious he was not telling the truth.

So, as one of the quickest people to react on here, you're telling me that if your boss publicly lied about you and made you look unprofessional, you suck it up and wait to see how it panned out in public? Toby had every right to call Mourinho out for making up bullshit about him.

I literally just answered this and yes - seeing as I know how powerful social media can be and things get interpreted on there.

He actually liked the message long after everyone found out he was lying so it was pointless.

I haven’t been following — so are the signs pointing to Toby being guilty or not? Sure sounds like he is a dickhead after all but the conversation spreads across a plethora of threads.

Seems to just be another entitled player that kicks up a fuss soon as he is out of favor, rather than putting his head down and working hard.

If true it sucks when you realize players at your club are much more like the shits down the road at Arsenal than you thought.

And see when managers lie about the players you get fans with an opinions this.

What trouble did Toby cause with Poch. The impression I got at the time was that they were both professional but both would of been happy if Toby had moved on.

It's been gone over many times. Poch effectively got his contract offer increased after Toby said he'd sign, then when the offer came he/his dad rejected it.

And that pissed Poch off because he felt he'd gone to bat for Toby over the contract and felt he'd been made a fool of when it was rejected.

But that doesn’t make Toby was a troublemaker.
No, but then there were rumours that Toby was refusing to sign a new contract while Poch was at the club. And he didn't. Until after Poch had been sacked. He signed pretty quick after that.

Mourinho lied but the truth is probably far worse for the 2 players.

Whatever they did - maybe challenging the decision they'd be on the bench vs newcastle - mourinho does seem to forgive in time.
As long as the dispute remains private, there is more than a good chance both could play in the next game, because for all his faults, mourinho is focussed on winning above all else.

Mourinho since he's arrival has been involved in conflict after conflict. The players ain't following instructions, the individual performance level of players has gone down... Son on the whole hasn't been great our defence has been shambolic with the chop change Bergwijn Winks and many others seem shot of confidence.

Jose is knob if he was fit .... and at this moment in time Toby is by far our best CB whatever you think about him.... Leaving him out when fit with our Def issues this season is criminal, treasonous and mentally stupid of the highest proportions !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Didn’t Simeone say he couldn’t speak highly enough of Toby when he left Atletico? Something about him being the guy in the team, in the squad, in the dressing room that you need. A true professional?? I can’t be bothered to find the actual quotes, but I’m sure they were along those lines.

I’m not sure why Jose has spun this, or if it’s just him being questioned about 3 players and only remembering two of the situations? Or is he just doing his best to get the sack? You never know with him.

As for Toby, I don’t really see what he’s done wrong here, if he was back in training on weds for tests or whatever.

always and everywhere he's been with most everyone at the club. its why he invariably wears out his welcome in year 3. he was a great coach in his prime but he's always had this fatal flaw.
