The worst buy in the history of Tottenham Hotspur
Absolutely, he isn’t the worst player we have had, but in terms of return given the fee paid and wages he is the worst buy. A s*** show all round, but time to move on and on the bright side Bentancur is ?

What a shocking waste of natural talent. Being asked to train hard and play hard in a sport you love to earn ridiculous amounts of money shouldn't be too hard. Clearly it is for him. Pisses me off as he could be fantastic.

I think this the point that most of us fans find ridiculous.

He’s playing at a level most of us can only dream of, in a sport and for a team we love, and getting paid an eye watering amount to do so.

He has the the talent to succeed, but clearly not the attitude, which leaves most of us scratching our heads in complete and utter disbelief.

I've started to wonder if he even likes football. Didnt BAE say he didnt really like it but he was good at it so he treated it like a job just to get paid?

He has got all the talent in the world but refuses to apply himself so I assume he doesnt share the love of the game like most do.

BAE wasn't lazy though.

He has the talent, it I don’t think he has the brain. I think, even if he really put the effort in, he’d remain only an average midfielder because his decision making without the ball (positioning and movement) is so bad.

It’s almost too late now

He's bone idle lazy with a shit attitude who we gave a massive contract to and he's since phoned it in. He won't be the first or the last to do this in football, we just need to learn lessons from it.

He clearly doesn't have the desire or drive to succeed. He turned it on in a few CL games, and in France the rumour was that even over there he was wildly inconsistent and only turned it on when he felt like it. We fucked up massively buying him.

Hitchen and Poch special this one.

Benny didnt like fotball that much, but he was a professional, as many of us hate our jobs during times, although put in the best possible work either way

Keep bumping this thread without news of him going for at least 2 shillings and 1 oz of ready rub should be considered a crime against spurs fans ?

We do not have many options to offload Tanguy due to his long contract (3 years left) and his wage (£200k per week). Even if we loan him out we’ll probably have to cover at least half of his salary if not more, negating any loan fee. Cancelling his contract will cost us money - I’d imagine at least half of his remaining contract period salary (half of £30M). Might be best if we just let him leave on a free transfer. That way a French or Italian club can give him a signing on bonus to supplement his wage whilst allowing him to fit into their wage structure. We’d get no fee but we’d save £10.4M per year in wages and not have a distracting, negative influence around the team.
