Don't see any club wanting him, looking at his attitude and performances levels in the two years with us.

Such a shame because he has the talent, just doesn't want to work for it. Our only hope is that we can show someone the Lyon highlights with the odd good pass he made for us.

Big wages and wanting a big fee, when most European clubs haven't got a penny to spend isn't going to happen.

I think many people were blinded by YouTube videos that 1 game against City in the CL and thought that was the norm for him. Unfortunately that game was an anomaly and we’re now paying a heavy price for our scouts not doing due diligence on him.

Look back through the start of this thread. So many people were basing their opinions off of that one game against man city. Quite a few of us took the piss at the time I am sure.

Absolutely no chance we sell him. Got to hope it’s a loan and it’s either got an obligation or he smashes it and recoups his value. Both seem unlikely as it stands. Really sucks.

Lol he was regularly playing like that at Lyon. And he was regularly doing the same at Spurs.

I think he generally had a pretty great season for Lyon that year, but the thing was he had a well known history of laziness and fitness problems, which is perhaps why other big clubs weren't in for him.

I think Poch has to take a big share of the blame. This was his number 1 priority signing and the guy Levy went above and beyond to procure. Maybe Poch would've sorted him out had he stayed, we'll never know, but he's got previous for this when he signed Osvaldo for Saints who he also thought he could 'tame' and ended in disaster. It's an egotistical approach: "I'll be the manager who can make XXXX player fulfil his potential" and it rarely works (see Rodgers and Balotelli). Much better to bring in a proven professional than assume you can change someone with a history of weak character.

It's a bit like when we signed Adebayor. We got a good 18 months or so out of him, but true to form he turned into a lazy, unprofessional dick and became an absolute nightmare to get rid of towards the end due to his absurd wages and terrible attitude.

In classic SC fashion I'm going to compare it to a romantic relationship - it's always a mistake to get in a relationship and think "I'll be the one to 'fix' him/her". You can never expect people to change - they are the ones who make that decision, not you

I watched him for two years or so at Lyon, many matches and he was consistently excellent in the league and CL.

The problem is, I couldn't watch him in training or know what he's like behind the scenes etc. But surely our recruitment team have access to resources which could have better informed them of his mental side?

I just don't think he has settled in England at all and I think it all went wrong when Poch went as he was a big part of bringing Ndombele in.

Let me prefix this by saying we of course don't know the motivations behind him wanting to leave.

However........what an absolute waste of talent. Has all the skills to be the best midfielder in the Prem, but doesn't seem like he has the behaviours and intangibles. Get rid In my opinion. If you have such disdain for Spurs who have paid you a Kings ransom and stuck by you for the past few seasons when you've frankly been shit on the whole, barring a few MOTD highlights then fuck off.

What is it about Spurs squad revolutions that seem to involve French cliques? Was the same with Poch. I'm sure just coincidental but still.

Bayern, Real and Barca wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. If he doesn't have the self awareness and humility to see that then he's absolutely fucked.

I'm in a really fucking bad mood today can you tell?

I'll smoke a joint later and then gush over how majestic he is and we should give him another chance.

Coutinho and Icardi are just shit, Dembele has much worse attitude and fitness than Ndombele, swapping them would be so funny
Coutinho isn’t shit. He was pretty good when on loan at Bayern. His age and contract means he’s not sale-able and would be a terrible purchase with no re-sale value, but on a loan deal that wouldn’t be awful. We desperately need some creativity, and if we can’t go she’ll out 35M for Damsgaard, we could do a lot worse than having Coutinho on loan.

We need to have a huge change of mentality. Sulking and giving up shouldn't be accepted. If you're not 100% committed I don't care how talented you are.

I fully respect and support Nuno leaving him out.

I am excited by the prospect of what Nuno seems to want from his CM's. Absolute aggresive, relentless ****s who make every game against us a dog fight for the opposition.

Best we can hope for is a swal deal for this fraud. Griezmann anyone? Part of a striker deal would be ideal, but obviously extremely difficult.

That video above just shows him being moody and sulky. I cant imagine how difficult it must be for chairmen, agents and managers having to deal with a proportion of their players who are just spoilt babies. It must be absolutely frustrating to have to deal with a grown man who is like that.

He had good numbers at Bayern but his game overall wasn't good.

Real Madrid/Barcelona/Bayern? What planet is he living on?
I believe it’s “Danny Rose to AC Milan” world…

(TBF, Danny’s behaviour with the U23s at the end was great - but let’s not forget he spent 2 years rejecting moves while we paid him £2m a year)

Straight loan swap for him and Coutinho.

Let’s see if a change of scenery benefits all parties.

I doubt Barca want to touch him though ?

Just feels like we are going round in circles with him and probably best we cut him loose. If he wants out, doubt the motivation to knuckle down, work to impress the manager is going to be there. Was really hoping he would come good but now think it would almost be a relief if he went and we can move on from him and focus on players who want to be here and give 100% to the cause.

Best I can see is a loan with an option to buy.

A loan is the way to go. No way do we recoup our money this summer but loaning him and getting a midfielder on loan in return could be a brilliant move as he would hopefully take to a new league.
