Who knows. Too much money too fast in life? If that is what primarily motivates a person then what else is there? If he isnt bothered about leaving a legacy beyond a footnote in spurs player history, then I dont imagine much can fire him up. Hopefully he wakes up ome morning and realises he has the world at his feet and could be forever remembered.I find situations like this, puzzling. To become an athlete and play/compete at the highest level, requires more than just natural talent. It requires commitment and hard work.
My better half was a very good athlete in multiple sports growing up (team and individual). She competed in high school state championships, the Junior Olympics and got full scholarship offers to division one universities here in the USA. She had to work and train extremely hard to get to that level, and even now, years on, she has the same attitude in both her professional life at work and her personal health and fitness. Fully committed and just naturally driven to give it her all.
So what I don’t get is how does an athlete get to a premier league players level (which is a massive step above my wife and athletes at her level), by being lazy? It’s never made sense to me.
Do they think they’ve ‘made it’ and therefore just take their foot off the gas? Were they always like this and managed to get sporting opportunities from a young age purely on ball skill but limited effort? If it was the latter, you’d think that they would have been weeded out before getting a chance with any half decent, professional football club.
So what’s the deal with him? It’s weird - knowing you’ve got ability to become truly world class in your sport, why wouldn’t you act like a professional and give it 100% to push on to the very top of your game?
Different sport but if you haven’t seen it and want to see an athlete who was a level above everyone around him, go and watch the Michael Jordan documentary ‘The Last Dance’. This is what you want to see and what I’d expect from a world class athlete. Even if you don’t like basketball, it’s an excellent documentary. I’m not saying he’s ever going to get to MJs level, but effort, and the drive/will to be a winner is what you expect and should be expected from all our players, especially the ones on £200k a week!
European teams control the tempo differently to PL teams. That and/or he’s really let himself goWhat I don't get is how he can face English teams in the UCL without issue but same teams in PL see him gasping for air while taking off his bib.
Probably trying to use Spurs as a stepping stone and feels he will get noticed by the biggest teams if he performs well in UCLWhat I don't get is how he can face English teams in the UCL without issue but same teams in PL see him gasping for air while taking off his bib.
Lloris tells fans what to expect from Ndombele
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has revealed his excitement at the club signing his international teammate Tanguy Ndombele. Source: Football Londonwww.spurscommunity.co.uk
Tanguy is still a young player, but his potential is massive," the goalkeeper said, as reported by ESPN FC. "I think he has done great things for Lyon over the last two years and has shown his quality, especially in the big games in the Champions League.
He has won his first cap for the national team and it is clear that he will bring his skills because he is a modern midfielder who can do everything.
"He looks like a box-to-box player, but he is still young with a massive potential and I know that the gaffer and the coaching staff [at Spurs] will improve him and his skills."
He seems to rate him ok.

I believe this was referred to here because another poster claimed that Loris warned the club off Ndombele last summer. Plainly that isnt accurate.Even if Lloris did think Ndombele's attitude was poor, as captain for both France and us, he's hardly going to tell the press that.
It's okay mate, he doesn't read these message boards. It doesn't look good but far too many take everything wrote on here as Gospel. Wasn't long ago that it was insinuated that Alderweireld had disrespected the club to where I thought he had sodomised the cockerel above the stadium the way reports were coming out and that situation magically turned itself around. We were actually hearing positive things during the lockdown about Tanguy so let's try and not react emotionally to what has been wrote. It doesn't look good, it's worth being concerned but let's wait and see until there's something we can tangibly prove before getting so angry towards him.

What does it say about modern society when people are so keen to defend someone who is taking £200k a week from the club you love and where you complain about ticket prices lack of spending etc but half the people here are still desperate to find excuses for him despite the fact he's completely mugging off every single, fan player and employee of the club with his lack of effort and taking our clubs money and having a jolly. Its the whole entitlement thing people think they are entitled for everything to just come easy these days so they aren't as shocked as they should be about someone taking such an amazing life and opportunity for granted. ps i'm 36 and I see it in plenty of people my age.
Anyone who turns up to training in a woolly hat, full winter tracksuit in 30 degree heat is defiantly not planning to train hard, should of seen the signs earlier that he’s a complete tosser.
Why would club leak info about Ndombele’s attitude - it makes potential sale almost impossible?
Fine , but that’s £10 m off asking price for PR effect.on the other hand it does soften the blow for fans, knowing that it didn’t work out for him here because of him rather than failings from the club
I agree with you but people on here will remember someone saying "didn't we have ITK that Lloris warned the club against Ndombele" and won't remember that ITK didn't actually exist. If a reporter asked Lloris what he thought of new signing Ndombele, he's hardly going to say anything other than positive things.
I'm not saying that Lloris did in fact warn the club off Ndombele, but these quotes really don't prove anything.
