It all doesnt make sense. When I see him with the ball he has shown tons of energy, spark, desire
Without the ball he is a spectator walking around the ground.
It's a conundrum

He doesn't deserve a start. Not on form or effort.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if he doesn't start tonight because frankly it is an appalling message to send to the rest of the squad and can't do much for squad harmony. They will all be aware of that clip too I'm sure.

Don't bother or put any effort in,and get a starting spot? Nah. Not for me. If he wanted a start he had the cameo to show Jose how much he wants and deserves it - instead his comic lack of effort spawned a fucking meme. Starting him is bad precedent and will lose the dressing room if not managed carefully.
What did you think of Winks attempts in all that?

Let's be honest the video did him no favours. He tried to get back but it looked like fitness was an issue.

People will rightly ask questions also one has to appreciate the speed and skill of the Wolves player (nobody seems willing to appraise) understandably from a Tottenham point of view.

At least he didn't walk back with increased fitness and understanding it turns to runs and sprints.

The shame will further focus him hopefully.

He'd come on as a sub, you're seriously trying to say he can't cope with 5mins?

It's about desire, currently he's not got it

He absolutely shouldn't be indulged for clearly below par effort but i'd like to think if he does indeed start then he's had the proverbial rocket up his arse.

This is why we get so frustrated with our dealings in the transfer market. We've a chairman who the last time he pulled some cash out of his wallet the money was printed on sheepskin in latin and when he eventually does, we sign two players, one of whom was initially on loan and took several months to get in the team and another who is puffing like an asthmatic on 40 fags a day just running out onto the pitch.

Then we sign Fernandes but it's turning out to be the wrong fucking Fernandes and a player who, one cracking finish aside, hasn't really done all that much or even looked likely to. Meanwhile we fail to sign a striker of any sort.

We did better business during the wilderness windows :D

The neglect and incompetence is fucking astonishing. And still people defend it.

We're in massive danger of becoming a meme club again. You know, where everyone gets sent the 'funny' ones and its about us.

Still, there you go, the ups and downs of football eh?

Ever watched VDV without the ball?
Spot on comparison. Ndombele plays like he's a luxury No. 10.

Problem is that he's not a No. 10, he's a CM and he can't get away with strolling about while the opposition carves us open through the middle third and defensive third of the pitch. Another problem is that football has evolved away from that sort of player, you can't afford to carry passengers these days in general, and certainly not from CM positions.

Hopefully he'll be dropped from the Euro 2020 squad and the lightbulb will go off. He needs a wake-up call of some sort.

Sure. And to be honest I think if he does start Jose is astute a man manager to make his expectations very clear.

I genuinely don't see how you pull someone aside to tell them they are dropped for this guy considering that shitshow though, it doesn't seem like good squad management.

Agreed with the above, will be standing in the cold tonight and hoping he turns out a performance, but as I said previously, I wont hammer him for a poor performance as long as he busts a gut.
Spot on. I'd happily take a few games of him playing 80-90 minutes looking like he wants to be out there but misplacing every pass and failing with every dribble, because I'd have absolute faith that the passing and dribbling would come good before too long. We just need him to show he wants to get on the pitch and put in a decent effort out there, and the rest will all fall into place sooner rather than later. But only he can solve the getting on the pitch and putting in a decent effort side of things, no one else can do it for him.

I did consider it but meh.

I'm not suggesting none of our signings will come good but fuck me, none of them are really inspiring much confidence right now and as for Ndombele, well, no matter what his potential, what we've had out of him so far is fucking embarrassing. Whoever signed that cheque needs horsewhipping. It's like buying a brand new car and having it break down as you pull off the forecourt.

I wonder whether behind the scenes if Jose has tried pretty much everything. Maybe it’s time for a senior player to call him out in front of the team. Oh do we have such a player / enforcer ?

Well if someone doesn't, before long the fans will take it into their own hands. I believe we have a fairly decent sized booing fraternity. I'd hate to see that happen and I'm certainly not suggesting anyone does that but I can smell it coming unless he pulls his finger out or whatever the problem is gets resolved.

This awful awful season.........It'll be a blessing when it's over.

Shit. Of course. The viral clip of ndombele not trying was actually Winks's fault. Isn't everything really?

Silly me.
Winks tried twice to tackle the player but didn't succeed...but at least he tried...(not blaming Winks. I like him as a footballer)

The point is the speed strength skill of the Wolves player was one thing. Collectively it was bad all round defensively Mourinho has his work cut out.

I remember Eriksen pulling out of tackles every game that's another story...Ndombele of course has to work harder but also the manager needs to find solutions.

you would think that playing under his national team captain would also be a kick up the arse... not that I've seen any evidence of that yet

I watched individual match highlights earlier of the first two games of the season - he looked energetic with the ball (and enormously talented) and also made defensive contributions. And played 90 minutes.

He's a quality football player. In my opinion he has had injuries and effects we are not fully privy too, evidenced by the amount of football he has played since the end of November.

That clip against Watford is not good. Obviously. But I'm not going to let it define my view of his talent or potential or let it determine my view of his character or efforts on the training ground to get back to peak fitness. Because none of us know the circumstances bar a 7 second video.

I'm fully behind him and will support him to come good - because if he does show consistency he will be one of our most valuable players.
