Any idea how long Sessegnon is injured for? Will he be ready to go into training or is he still recovering?

This is the kind of impact sub for the PL and CL we have lacked for years. He'll get plenty of starts in cups too.

Can't wait for him to step on to the field for the first time. Think he'll be electric.

Seems like a genuinely nice person and clearly very eager to learn and improve, he'll fit in perfectly.

While playing for the worst team in the league...

But I thought he had a poor season and was underwhelming and wasn’t ready for the premier league.

Oh, and additionially, Sancho did it playing for the second best team in a much worse league. Yes, 14 is a lot more than 8, but Dortmund in bundesliga is a lot easier than Fulham in the premiership.

Furthering your point, Fulham scored 34 goals and Dortmund scored 81.

Sess assisted 18% of his Fulham's goals, Sancho assisted 17.2% of Dortmund's goal.

Sessegnon will learn from Rose, can also come in at times and offer us much needed width. Nice change of pace option when our direct cutting in forwards aren’t having an impact. I think he’ll be good this season and great beyond that.

Let’s hope he gets a chance to learn from Rose. I’m still a bit worried we’re going to do something dumb there

The following article (https://statsbomb.com/2019/08/tottenham-hotspur-2019-20-season-preview/) speculates on a possible formation as follows:

"We could also see back four systems with Juan Foyth at a right back/centerback flex position as the left backs push up the field more in a lopsided formation."

In other words, that LB could be Sess having more freedom to play as a winger, although technically as a LB in a back-four formation.
This was happening against Madrid or Bayern in preseason I think-might have been another game but basically Rose was sitting back to make a back three and KWP was pushed really high up the field. I can see this working with either FB next season

Yep and it would be dumb. Sess seems a great talent and may have a higher ceiling than Rose from a technical point of view, but he still needs to learn how to defend. Having Rose and Davies to learn from and not have the pressure of being expected to come straight in will be important.

I mentioned this in the Foyth thread at the time. Made a lot of sense to me, but think a few disagreed.

Shoot me down in flames. Sess will be in our starting eleven by the end of the season on a regular basis.
