From what I understand, at worst 2-3 weeks. But that is a guess. Could only be 10 days with rest. But until he is assed by the club we cannot be sure. But from what i am hearing it does not seem serious.

Is that what happens when you are knocked out of the World Cup?

Crikey. Clubs' medical assessments sure are pretty brutal these days :inpain:. That's certainly one way to reduce malingering :cautious:.

yeah, not brilliant, but not too long out. and it will give him a chance to recharge himself for the rest of the season too.

If it's 3-4 weeks from when he pulled up last week then it's fine. He's suspended for the first match back anyway so all he'll probably miss is two league games vs Villa and Palace, then possibly an FA Cup tie we don't need him for before we play Arsenal and City; I suspect he'll be back in some form by those games.

Because of his ban he can't play against Brentford anyway. As long as he's back for Arsenal on 15th Jan I'm not too fussed about the other 2 league games before.

Not surprised. I think we’ll struggle to keep hold of him, Richie, Kulu and Kane. If we don’t get top 4 I genuinely worry for us.
Bentancur, Richarlison and Kulusevski have barely arrived and will have long contracts (though I'm not sure Kulusevski has even finished his initial loan from Juve). If Real or anyone else wants them, they will need to pay us enormous sums.

As the Kane City saga showed in summer '21, there may be big fish floating around but unless they pay the mega fees we want, they're not going anywhere.

Anyway I tried looking up these Bentancur rumours last night and the most links that came up were that Liverpool were looking to buy him. As if we would agree to sell to one of our rivals, who are actually a few points below us in the league and therefore less likely to get top 4 than us!

We're currently third, if we were struggling I could understand the worry yet we were far worse off at this point last season and still got 4th. No point worrying until May, and even then the first three have only joined within this calendar year (one is still technically a loan) so I don't think they'll go for a little while just yet. Kane is another matter, but again he didn't go to City in the end and stayed with us.

He strikes me as the sort of player that wouldn't attract the major bid required to get him out of the club. He's a really good player but are real going to offer like 60m for him? I don't think Conte or levy would entertain bids unless they're massive.

When we have lost top players it has been due to top teams coming in and paying big money.

The last time we won a trophy, we lost our strike force. We’ve never kept players on the strength of qualifying for the CL.

It is yet another fan narrative that has little basis on reality.

If those players were to leave we'd have 80m per and every up and coming talent in the world would know we're the place to go to get there.
It's a healthy position as well, don't live in fear of it.
