Got to get Hatate for me, I really think he'll be gettable and already made for Ange. I think we have good options for the pivot in Bentancur or Bissouma or Skipp. We need a more box to box option to replace Hojbjerg. Someone who is better suited to that quick passing so he seems perfect for the role.

Feel like this is the type of signing we'd make to replace him tbh. Some kind of 15-30m player that Ange knows personally or a random player most of us have never heard of that our scouting team/Ange have identified.

Don't think we'll go for Scott and think the competition for Lavia will be too high.

If Højbjerg goes I don't think we need another mid immediately. Spend the cash on getting Tapsoba. First XI is more important than the squad when you're out of Europe.

We'll be fine playing 4-3-3 with Skipp, Sarr, Bissouma, Maddison, Bentancur and a youth player like Devine. Kulu can also probably play in the 8 spot.

If we can shift GLC, only then would I bring in another player, but if not then you could consider using GLC also.

Sarr and Bissouma at AFCON. Bentancur likely to be out till November. Skipp not ant required PL level week in week out. Be criminal not to replace.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't he available for a very low fee because of a release clause? Could mean that Scott and Hatate are not one or the other choices and we focus on additional midfield resources given we're switching to a midfield 3. Leaving Solomon as the only specific attacking upgrade perhaps but Scott looks like he could do similar to what Grealish does.

I think it was Trix who suggested Bentancur may be a number 6 and I can see that possibility at the very least as an alternative to Bissouma at times, I like the idea of signing Scott and having the possibility of Scott and Maddison in tandem as opposed to signing another 6 or deep lying 8. I must admit rating Sarr as highly as I do does help.

Bissouma/Skipp
Bentancur/Sarr
Maddison/Scott

That to me allows for so much flexibility.

This is purely the optimist in me but I think we'll see one of either White, Devine, John or Craig breakthrough and convince Ange they can play a part this season. I personally think Harvey White can be that player but would be thrilled if any of the academy players make that jump.

He's been great for the under 21s, incredible close control and passing. Nippy too.

Keeping Skipp out of the team

Forgot about AFCON.

Given our sparse schedule in Jan, it's likely Bissouma only misses 2 league games tops as Mali surely aren't getting to the final. But still, highlights the need for another body in there.

Like the idea of someone like Hatate who could also cover for Maddison when he inevitably gets niggling injuries. A technical, high energy player that can also provide creativity and goals.

Looks like Xhaka is going for €25m so I guess that is a good barometer for Hojbjerg. He is a couple of years younger and I'd argue is a better player so €35m sounds reasonable

I guess it really depends on who we see as six or 8's in Ange's system. If Bissouma is seen as more of an 8 then I suspect we'll target a 6(Lavia was mentioned by WLB) to rotate with Skipp. If Biss is seen as a 6 then we'll go for an 8. I guess Scott could come into the thinking then, if he's considered ready for the step up.

Ether Scott or Veiga for me ideally. Could even do a partial swap for Veiga using Regi who Celta want apparently and then use rest of the funds raised by PEH for another position. I really think he is a tailor made 8 for Angie. I don't think we have a shot at Lavia as he seems to Liverpools next top target and he will be very expensive most likely but obviously wouldn't say no.

Veiga is going to Man City or PSG from what i've been reading.

Southampton reportedly want £50m for Lavia. It seems Liverpool will only target him if they sell one of their existing midfielders - they were open to selling Thiago to Saudi but he doesn't want to go.

Starting to make progress it seems on the outs. PEH, Perisic and Lloris close to leaving. Hopefully we can shift a CB or two soon as well.

That leaves us with some good budget/wages to spend on a couple of CBs and another CM.

Scott is more of an 8 though. I feel like that’s a good thing though as just Sarr as an 8 until Bentancur is fit isn’t enough depth. Devine could deputise for Maddison and is better suited for that role
