Huge news. Because teams have literally been walking through us of late.

What a difference he'll make.

Would it count as two players if we just used him to carry Ndombele around on his back for most of the game in a special harness? That way he wouldnt need to do any kicking and Ndombele wouldnt need to do any running.

It will be incredible to have him back. Last season he stopped so many attacks and covered the defenders extremely well. Two of his most under appreciated attributes. Hopefully his energy and work rate rubs off on the rest of the team too.

Sissoko is not the best midfielder in the game but what he does do he does well. Poch always talked about penetration (ooo-err) and how Sissoko could penetrate a defence and get beyond the defence. That's exactly what JM needs right now to make the counter attack work - someone willing to get beyond the defence and get them turning back to goal. When we have that we'll see GLC and Winks will have much more space to operate in and create options.

With that in mind I see him lining up on the wide right or on the right of a middle three not in the middle as a two

It's great news to see him back in contention but we have to remember he's been out for months so we shouldn't expect too much too soon. Same will go for Kane and Sonny.

COME ON THE MOOSE!!!!!

Possible MOTM today, was everywhere and never looked like he was getting tired. I heard Jose and the staff constantly praising him for winning the ball back and generally outmuscling the Manu players. Think he'll be one of the first names on the team sheet moving forward.

Thought he had a quiet first half and outstanding in the second. I wonder if he could be converted into a pure DM, playing behind Lo Celso and Ndombele in a 3 man midfield?

I think when the team is unbalanced and first teamers are struggling for fitness his work rate and selflessness become an extremely important asset.

But if we buy a DM and get Lo Celso, Ndombele and the attacking mids up to speed he becomes a squad player again.

I thought he was poor lack of touches and poor. Him and winks are terrible together. Both aren’t good at much.
Agree he doesn't play well with Winks.

Sissoko is a limited player but in games like today his work rate and willingness to carry out a task by the manager makes him useful. But we shouldn't go ott and start thinking he is first team quality on a permanent basis.

His touch and passing have never been his strengths, so you're highlighting parts of his game that we all know he's not going to massively improve on. What did was win the ball back , run for the full 90 minutes and supported his team mates.

Weve missed his energy massively. Can see he made a difference and why Poch and now Jose loves him. He was making plenty of tackles and running hard when others wouldn't or couldn't. Gedson could do with watching how hard he works for the team. He'll never been the flashiest player in the team but he will be there to allow for the rest of the skilful players to do their thing

Absolute hero in the last 20-25 minutes. You're never going to get anything blindingly spectacular from him, but his contribution to the defensive side of things when it matters is key to us. I don't think it's a coincidence that as soon as he is back in the side we don't look like conceding every 30 seconds.

He goes back to being the first name on the team sheet for me along with Son.

I think that without any better candidates he has that spot nailed down until the end of the season. He broke things down well and was for the most part very positionally aware.

He is such a divisive player. He covered a lot of ground, some blocks, interceptions but that stat that he touched the ball 9 times as a central midfielder for the entire first half is simply disgraceful (yet I still think he had a good game)
