Shaktar have already lost an appeal to CAS in January, not specifically about Solomon but all their non - Ukraine players.
There was another report that said they were going to take their case to the EU , not sure how that can be as Ukraine is not an EU country, as Solomon is not an EU citizen and the UK is not an EU country don't think there is anything to worry about , he's no longer a Shaktar player..
Is this a Brexit benefit at last???

Sign him and then cancel the friendly.

I'm joking of course, but their CEO does come across as a bit of a twat if this is true.
Sign him, make him play against them, then hold back the proceeds just for the bants.

About the only one, the amount of money Brexit has cost me I could have probably got a seat in The H Club next to Ken.

PS All the talk is about Solomon but I think Shaktar had a load of Brazilian players who have not returned to the club , probably a list somewhere .

something feels really off about this transfer. Not sure what it is, but something isn't quite sitting right with me.
I’ve seen a few people make this kind of comment in this thread and I just don’t get the conspiracy edge some people have on this transfer,

The Russian invasion of Ukraine lead to unique circumstances around contracts for players living there, and after Son’s poor season and the Danjuma disaster, the club are taking a punt on a young winger who has been decent in his career so far and had shown flashes of more quality, and if it doesn’t work out, he can almost certainly be sold for a tidy sum

It’d be nice to provide them some financial package, cos otherwise it does feel a little exploitative.

Me too. Don't care if he scores goals. Football is inherintely corrupt by default. Always has been always will be. And we choose to be on this ride.

It doesn't sit totally right with me that Shaktar lose him for free, given the war and what the city suffered even before that.

I get why it's turned out like this but I'd like us to offer more to Shaktar than just a friendly, in money or aid.

The friendly is to raise money for their cause though
Not sure what more we should do, it's nothing to do with us afterall

We are making a donation to their charity too.

We're apparently doing more than we have to as well.
We could just take him in a free and be done with it but we've arranged a friendly, with all proceeds going to them.
I'd say that's a pretty decent way of trying to see them right.

I don't think we're doing anything wrong here. By all accounts Fulham were pissed that he wasn't going to sign for him and we're giving them more money than they would have.
There's a big part of me that thinks Shaktar should be happy that they've been offered anything more than what Uefa decreed that they should get.

We are not the bad guys here, we're offering them more than they would be getting otherwise.
