I’m personally not convinced he’s a centre back in a two, though I do think he’ll be a good player. I think his pace and aggression, added to the lick of technique and comfort on the ball he seems to have, will have him ending up as a very good, aggressive right back who can do a job at centre back.I’m not bashing Tanganga whatsoever but genuinely what has he done to suggest he has such a huge future for us?
I can honestly only think of the Liverpool and Middlesbrough games last season and the chelsea game this season. Other than that I don’t recall watching him play that much at all? Has he ever actually played centrally in a back 4 for us? I seem to recall most of his appearances being at left back or right back...
I’m not saying he won’t turn out well but I get a sense of ‘one of our own’-itus on this.
