I've seen Allison, Ederson and De Gea all make howlers. Shilton is considered one of the greatest and he was out jumped by a coked up midget. Peter Schmeical was lobbed by fucking Philippe Albert.

Hugo makes at least 2 game saving stops a match, and is always the first to front up when adversity hits, but lets others have limelight for the successes.

I’m not having that. Yeah all keepers make mistakes.

Lloris should be fondly remember and he has been a great servant. However for large parts of last season he was horrendous. His distribution was poor, defenders couldn’t trust him and he continually shipped vital (very save-able) goals.

His form totally collapsed and those saves weren’t happening either. He has rightly been replaced.

I wish him luck where his career takes him next, but let’s not try to re-write history

Lloris a club legend imo. Management should have moved him on and certainly Forster should have kept his place last year but been a top keeper for 80% of him time here

150 odd caps for France too!

When did he say this recently ?

Maybe he’s up for giving Ange's style of football a go for a year then. We won’t her much money for him so I’m fine if he stays he can teach vicario but I’d really love a new different captain mabye Bentancur or Son etc. Assuming Kane goes.
Obviously not recent if he is describing our football as “exciting”

Literally nobody is saying he had a good season last season. Nobody is trying to rewrite that.

Its people who dont recognise that he was a great servant for pretty much every season before last that are rewriting.

not sure if your miles apart. Hugo for years was among the best. Last year was way off his normal year. Part of that were fundamental errors he was making. Part of it was him attempting to overcompensate (mental errrors) for the shit show in the back. But on the balance, he was way more than a great servant. He was a great keeper who in his prime saved many that he shouldn't have, gave away some that he shouldn't have and who had a poor final year. We were lucky to have him and while it is best for the club that he takes a backseat or moves on, the stability he gave us was one of the most important contributions from any player we've had over the last couple of decades. Hard to think of many players that did more for the club over the same time frame.

I am kind of surprised we did not find a move for him before players were required back today.
He's not going to rock the boat, he still needs to get fit and he's still a decent keeper so having him around until the end of the window isn't going to hurt.
You need some senior players about the place even if it's just to help the new signings or youngsters; I don't know when the others are all due back.

He has also won us crucial games and points. City in the Champions League at the new stadium, Arsenal at Wembley come t.

He has been here 10 years, so yes there will have been mistakes. De Gea has been the same.

He won the world cup as Captain. Let's not go all revisionist just because of the past couple of seasons.

Even in a very poor final season he maybe had one of his best ever games for us against united. Probably saved us 4 or 5 goals that day.

lloris has never been on the level of alisson ederson, prime de gea, schimichel, ask any neatural fan and they will agree

He was the best "sweeper keeper" (not best overall GK) in the world for a while, back when we were playing a high line. On the odd occasion that he was late to the ball / caught out of position, he got hammered for it by pundits, yet the stats always showed that he was cutting out many many attacks (i.e. preventing shots / chances) for every error, so his net benefit to the team's defensive record was huge. He also had elite stats for one-on-ones. He has played very differently in recent years, due to a combination of us not playing such a high line, us not pressing as aggressively and him aging.
He had the best stats in the PL for shot-stopping (based on xG /xG saved stats) two seasons in a row under Poch...during a period when he was heavily criticised for making 2-3 clear blunders per season, but preventing something like 10 more goals than he should have compared to other decent GKs (so more than making up for his mistakes).
Clearly his stats have declined in recent years.

He said he wants a new experience. We should Let him go on a free, however he should be allowed to stay and train until he finds the move that is right for him and his family.

We shouldn't be surprised that Hugo had a poor season considering the very poor defense we had playing in front of him and the constant pressure put on our defence because of the negative sit back play that Conte loved.
