Played and been available for more games under Ange than Maddison and Bentancur, similar number to Biss, VDV and Romero. Frustrating that he has picked up an injury when we’re so short of midfielders but as can be seen from our injury list, they happen to the best of us without rhyme or reason.
Three of those players were one long injury each (Bentancur came back and was re-injured by Cash), Bissouma and Romero are suspensions (along with an injury). Lo Celso comes back and gets a knock shortly after his return pretty often it feels like. That's the problem, it happens way too often. He can't be counted on being available long term if we want to play extra European fixtures.

Would be silly trying to keep him at the club. Consistency is key in life and football. We need players who are consistent in performance and availability. GLC is consistently unavailable.

Sell now or asap.

Bentancur had one major injury and then got obliterated by Cash. Overall I expect Bentancur to be fit for most of our games and I’m not expecting him to get injured whenever we’re likely to need him. He’s also a better player overall than GLC for me.

Maddison, you’re correct he has more spells of injury across his career, most likely from getting kicked up in the air 10 times a game, however he plays more consistently than GLC I reckon, and I’d say he brings more and is more valuable, whilst also being a better player than GLC.

Bissouma is having a poor run of form, and has missed many of those games through suspension from rubbish discipline, however I’d still pick him ahead of GLC and feel he brings more to the team.

VDV has had a long term injury, he had one similar before at Wolfsburg. However he isnt a player littered with injuries and id now expect him (if truly fully recovered) to be mostly available.

Romero does miss games you’re correct, and I won’t bother comparing him and VDV to GLC as they play in different positions.

Overall though, most of the players mentioned have missed one specific large period of time, due to one specific significant injury. GLC misses a few weeks here, a few there, then plays for a couple of games whilst others are out, but once he’s played a few times you’re just waiting on the news that he’s picked up an injury and will miss some more time. This also happens every single season.

For me personally, I’d pick Maddison, Bentancur, Bissouma, Kulusevski all above him on talent and productivity alone. I’d pick Sarr above him on usefulness to the team and energy, and actually for me, sheer talent wise GLC is a better football player than Hojbjerg and Skipp… but the problem is Hojbjerg and Skipp play more because they’re able to be on a football pitch more consistently than GLC can manage. He’s completely unreliable and would be better off being sold back to La Liga.

Just my opinion of course.

If your squad player isn't available the majority of the time he because slightly useless and he falls in that category. He just misses too many games when he doesn't play many in the first place

Think he has to go. Sell him, Skipp and Hojberg and sign a player on par with bissuma/Bentancur/Sarr/Maddison

Surely the Don can pick another rabbit of the hat. Think the profile we would need is a defensive CM option. Certainly not an out and out AM as we can play Kulu there if maddison is out

scan result... its been a bit cold outside to be kicking a ball around lately.

He never seems to be injured when we send him on loan to spain.

Guys, it seems to me that it is a long injury. Bad news thinking that he could go on loan this winter.

49 days out for Villareal on loan and missed world cup following an operation, so it's not just injuries with us. It was a hamstring op right? So wonder if it's something related this time?

Shame as he finally seemed to find a great fit with Ange as manager, but just seems like the physical toll of this league is too much.

How many games has he been available for us in the last 3 years though? He has only had two spells of fitness that I can think of where he has had regular football for us since he joined. That is abysmal.
Think he may have been out on loan for best part of two of those seasons

Great if he's back next week.

I do think we need to sell though as he seems a bit crocked unfortunately.

Shame though, if he could stay injury free he'd be some player.

I think, like with a few players, we just need to see where they/we are come end of the season and reassess the situation then. For now he is staying until summer so good to have him back and available.

There's a few players I would say have question marks to see how they do before the summer. GLC (out of contract soon and can he be fit enough) , Richarlison (can he keep up recent form), Werner (can he prove himself so we make it permanent). We have some exciting young prospects coming through who could make the squad next season or we may need to sign one or two attacking players. I'm ok with GLC but I do think Kulusevski is a better option as a 10 so if we have enough wide attackers we may not need GLC at all. Between Kulusevski and Maddison we should be covered for the role.
