Off to Aletico Madrid Euro 60m plus 10m add ons per SSN

Aaaaaaaand meltdown mode is activated.

To be fair, and if the info is true, fair fucks to Betis for holding out. 70m is the magic number that's been going around for weeks.

Might actually be a good thing to get some finality in this pursuit to have a bid received by another club. Levy would have no choice but to match and would force us to act now if we are serious in buying the player.

dharmesh sheth said live on air that he had one source tell him those numbers and he hasn't been able to find another source to corroborate this ...

I bet he's worth 50% more again this time next year, massive missed opportunity if true. Just felt he was the perfect fit for us and a much better prospect than Fernandes

Whether its true or not I don't know , his agent might have fed the info to SSN but Betis have always maintained the price to be €70m and it might be a incentive to Spurs to jump to that price.

We would never accept a link like that as proof for getting a player. I suggest we treat it similarly. The SSN quote I saw was "willing to" and not offered. Very easily could be another wind up ploy by Betis at this late stage to get us going again.

Wheres this story? Ive only read a 'Atletico are prepared to pay the money' comment. Which frankly sounds like the bullshit they've fed the media all along

There is so much posturing going on here it’s unreal. I can’t imagine that we wouldn’t agree a deal at that price.

I call BS.

They've definitely been feeding the media BS stories to try to get us to jump. It reeks a bit of desperation and makes me think we've got a good chance of concluding the deal by the deadline. If we can nail down a Coutinho loan we'll have all the leverage.

Atletico have plenty of money to get that done. He fits their team to a tee. Stays in Spain and works for an Argentinian manager still. Whether the club (spurs) are happy to let it go for 70m, who knows.

I'm not sure how legit that story is considering it's not online anywhere

This isn’t what they said. If you’re going to pass news on, please do it accurately.
dharmesh sheth said live on air that he had one source tell him those numbers and he hasn't been able to find another source to corroborate this, it's literally just his word.

Spanish deadline is later in the month so would be odd for Atletico to do it now.
Surely they’d wait, certainly ‘til after Thursday, when some of the competition is out the picture.

Why would Atletico do this deal now with weeks to burn? Sounds to me like it's Betis trying to play Levy at his own game

You sound like you have Stockholm syndrome with how Spurs do deals tbh
