But yet JJ seems to say the opposite.

He said he liked him. That doesn't mean he could like others more and prefer to use the money we need to make GLC permanent on those

What still gives me hope is that Daniel won't like to throw the 16m of the loan to the garbage

The club has already purportedly spent 15 million pounds on the loan deal. There's little to no chance they'd eat that amount of money and pass on signing a player of Lo Celso's profile for an additional 27 million pounds. Who could you buy for that 27 million pounds? An unproven player from the Championship.

Lo Celso is not only a super talent, but even if Mourinho doesn't want him (unlikely, in my opinion), you could easily get back 40+ million pounds from a club like Atletico for him. Simeone would probably take him tomorrow, if we'd let him. Would be perfect for Atletico, as they lack a dynamic creative #10.

However, I think this is a moot point. He's going to start forcing his way into the side now that he is settling, and he'll be a key cog in the team by March.

It has been suggested to me that JM is playing games, trying to use GLC as a bargaining chip in order to get more up front cash to spend.

This could very much be the case and he might just be saying all this to force DL's hand a bit.

We'll have to wait and see I guess, but I wouldn't be surprised now either way

Whatever the truth - it’s the reason why Mourinho was a big choice for levy

Mourinho will call him out and say it as it is

ball firmly one levy’s court I suspect

GLC is not big, not fast, not good in the air, and one footed. I imagine if Mourinho was given a choice of Messi or Ronaldo he'd always go for Ronaldo because of athletic profile, ignoring the creative side completely. It's how he builds teams.

It would be an incredibly dumb move to loose Gio. The kid has so much potential. I'm already irritated he's not a starter at this point but if it's true Jose wants him gone then I will be seriously worried. He is going to have a great future wherever he goes.

Cheers Trix but that doesn’t bode well for the relationship going forward. It means levy hasn’t changed like we expected and neither has Mourinho. He wants money but levy won’t give it to him. I was convinced Mourinho was the man to take us forward but I’m starting to see a few chinks in that thought process if levy doesn’t let him be the manager we all know he can be.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player so one footed. It’s quite unbelievable that he’s been allowed to develop as a footballer playing solely with only his left foot. If he had any inclination to use his right foot it’s possible he might of scored on Saturday.

Thanks for the info, hopefully this isn't all getting back to GLC but I assume it probably will be if you're hearing it from multiple sources. Not a great way to motivate the guy after what has already been a difficult start to his Tottenham career.

If GLC had been given all of Eriksen minutes this season (barring injury) we would surely be in much better shape now. Not rating GLC makes little sense, I could understand if the whispers were he doesn’t fit JMs system. If that were the case, fair enough, but to not rate him as a footballer makes zero sense.

Having said that, didn't he pick Oscar at Chelsea quite frequently? Oscar was slight in build, certainly no brute.

If we let this guy go, i'll go from being optimistic about what Mourinho can do here, to full on wanting him out.

It's a thing with some lefties in particular, Rivaldo and Denilson (the one who was at Betis, not the former Arsenal DM) spring to mind. Somehow their brains are wired in such a way that they cannot do anything with their wrong foot. It's incredible that you can reach professional levels with only one foot.
