I’d rather support Spurs than Utd. I’d rather hsve our players than theirs. I’d rather have our manager. I’d rather play in the Champions League. I’d rather we didn’t spend 80m on Harry F McGuire.

Comparing the two clubs and ending up somehow in favour of Utd is beyond me.

I'm 99.9% positive that there wasn't almost three months of public rumors regarding Pepe, Saliba, Ceballos, Haller, Fornals, Joelinton, Maxim, Gbamin, etc.

I check /r/soccer almost everyday and they post all of these rumors so I do get an idea of how long these deals are in the public as everything the premier league does transfer rumor wise makes it on the front pages.
Saliba was rumoured for ages and Newcastle had been working on Joelinton during last season.

Do you root for the bank accounts or the team on the field, I forget?

Were not going to fucking fold as a club if we pay what Betis want on Lo Celso. Or if we actually think we need to sell Eriksen to buy Lo Celso (still very possible) we wouldn't fold if we just had both.

where was you in 1991?

as mentioned by another poster, people moan about teams buying as if this was fantasy football, and want us to do it every year which definitely wasn't possible while building. none of us know exactly how much is in the coffers. none us know the real cost of last season.

we are going into the season stronger and if I had enough money, I would bet with every doubter that we will at worst finish top 3. yes it would be great to win a trophy, but as mentioned a few times this window, it took Man C 1 BILLION in spend before they won their 1st trophy.

thank god I'm away next week with limited wifi

If you want to use terms like " rarely...", it helps to look at a reasonably extended period of time to see whether it's true. In my example I've gone back and come right up to date, with an even spread throughout the period.

Of course, if you want to restrict "rarely" just to the examples that suit your argument, feel free, but you won't come out with a very persuasive case.

Our last two signings were Moura and N'Dombele. Not counting Jack Clarke, an interesting prospect. Are they sub-standard?

No club, as in no club on earth, has avoided making some disappointing signings. Do you honestly believe that over a sensible time frame our signings have been worse than average, as implied in your choice of the word "sub-standard"?

And what, by the way, has that to do with GLC? Do you think he's a sub-standard target?

Below are the signings since Harry Left: 1. Top, 2. Good, 3. Decent, 4. Average, 5. Flop, 6. WTF, 7. Adebayor.

Saliba looks like it lasted about 2 months publicly and was signed a week and a half ago. Joelinton, whatever.

We take everything down to the wire (Ndombele being the exception), hell even Lucas Moura was signed on deadline day.

In thousands of years, historians will still be debating the objective validity of this document. People will probably die during these debates

I'm not sure "this wont put us out of business" is the best justification for doing something but im no business wizz.

I constantly see people say "we won't do a Leeds" when talking in regard to clubs almost folding and overpaying on transfers. I am 1000% sure that if we dropped 70mil on Lo Celso if he truly is Pochs target that Tottenham Hotspur would be perfectly fine financially.

So when do we have bus parade for all the progress we have made. I want to join in so that in the future can tell about it to others. Please send me date and location.
