You said it yourself, "Betis are up to Levy's usual shit". Other clubs are wise to it now; especially in the knowledge that we've got money to spend.
I thought one of the other arguments was the fact we're having to sell to buy in some circles ... I can't keep up with the rhetoric that it changes so fast ...

Only Spurs could blame their own chairman for the behaviour of other clubs.
People aren’t blaming Levy for other clubs behaviour. They are complaining about the fact we are still trying to drag two deals over the line that look ominously like other transfers over the years where we reach the end of the window and complain about others, rather than asking the question how could we have got them over the line if they are our key targets.

It’s fairly clear that last summer’s window hurt the club. We chased De Jong but ultimately did not make him an offer he couldn’t refuse. He starred last season for Ajax, and Barca came in and paid a lot of money for him. We have broken the cycle by getting Ndombele, but we are still at least two players short. If we end up that way at the end of the window, Levy has failed us big time.

I’m pleased to see the ITKs are still confident and it’s shite that RB are playing silly buggers. However he is the player we want so ultimately we need to find a way to cut through the rubbish and get a deal agreed. If that costs us £5 million more than we want it to most of us aren’t bothered as £5 million, really shouldn’t be a big enough sum to derail all our business.

Poch is a very emotional guy, he wears his heart on his sleeve and we’ve all witnessed that. Look how he reacted to our wins in the CL, dropping to the floor, crying.

Now i havent watched the interview yet so i havent formed an opinion yet.

Maybe he is pissed off, i dont know. Maybe its with the constant same questions from the journos when he really doesnt know and wished he did.

Maybe its Levy but i think Poch has said enough and is intelligent enough to see that Levy does deliver and if he was really fucked off then knock on DLs door and say Dan sorry pal but im off.

I think if anything he’s pissed with the same questions that he genuinely cant answer and with the fact that we are being dicked around by Betis.

I have no news yet but for fucks sake stay positive.....

Love Poch

But couldn't understand why on the eve of our biggest game in our history he chose to make it about him staying or leaving if we won the CL....
Too many times he goes off on riddles and unclear quotes, if he has a problem with club he should face DL off privately and tell him rather than all this shit in the media.
If Levy has dicked him off he should tell him to his face
If he was genuinely unhappy he would have walked , especially when the 3 mostly likely clubs he would leave us for RM,MU and Juve all were supposed to have flirted with him the last few months.

I Am not Poch bashing , i am his biggest fan, but i don't like it when we do our dirting washing in public, and don't give me all that he has no choice.

Hopefully this is all a matter of lost in translation and all is well.

The most common response in the interview was "ffs I already told you this in Singapore and in China", I think he was annoyed with the question. I also think he completely misunderstood the Lamela question (like last season where he randomly let slip that he had the touchline ban when asked about something completely unrelated) - I think he thought the journo was criticising Lamela. Also maybe his English lets him down in the heat of the moment and he's trying to say these things in a more light-hearted way than they come across.

Levy is shrewd but he's not stupid - he knows he's got one of the best managers in the world and he's not about to jeopardise that to save a few million. I refuse to believe that he's become complacent with Poch and thinks he can cheap out at this critical time, Poch has been making thinly veiled noises about needing investment for ages.

So you know the ITK is that we’ve agreed a price with Betis, but then they raised it again. Twice. How is that Levy up to his usual shit? It sounds much more like Betis up to Levy’s usual shit.
Whilst respecting the ITK, which is why we’re all on here, we are always told to take with a pinch of salt. So I do. They can only pass on the info they are fed with in good faith. If Hercs is told all agreed with a couple of players and he believes that’s a great source. He passes it on, thankfully. That really doesn’t mean that info is accurate or presents reality. That’s the salt bit. That’s what makes this site so good. But we can question how accurate the original source of that info is. If Levy didn’t have consistent history I may agree with you. But seriously we can open our eyes and see. Why else would Poch decide to kick off as he did last year when he was left with no investment in the team. A team utterly shattered as proved by performances and results in the premiership in 2019.

I’ve had an opportunity to meet and chat with Poch. I’ve seen how others around the club interact with him; the body language. I’ve looked into that guy’s eyes. The one thing you get is an honesty, passion and seemingly strong principles. He really is something else. He really engaged with me. Someone who means nothing to him and has no consequence to his success. Yet he was interested in my thoughts. I’ve also met Levy. I’ll leave that experience private. So yes I’m far more confident laying my full support & loyalty to Poch (and Spurs) and happy to stick with my beliefs that Levy is at fault for how Poch may feel.

So say the ITK who, as we know from many years experience , their messages can be controlled by the club .

Is it okay to apply the pinch of salt to this as well?

As far as im concerned, the info i get is reality not controlled messages from the club. You make it sound like the club is the USSR or the dark star.

It always depends on the level of contact you have at the club, the connection.

Fair enough , but would you put your hand on heart and say the club have never attempted to control ITK ?

Everyone is entitled to react the way they want as long as not harming others.... no mass culling.

My chosen route is to stay positive/optimistic until this time next week. If we look to be in the same position as now next week then my toys are going to be everywhere except in my pram.

Until then, I’m still having a great time in my pram.

Bf it was being discussed in 2 other threads in spurschat last night but it seems they got deleted

So? Then you all need to spam the GLC thread?

It's annoying for people thinking something has happend about GLC, and then to find out it's all about what Poch said after a game, which has ZERO to do with GLC!

The info we've been given is that we've twice agreed a fee with Betis and both times they've upped the price. I'm pretty sure that if it was as simple as offering 5m extra it would be done by now. It seems pretty obvious to me that Levy has to hold tight until Betis run out of time to fuck us around. Either that or you set a deadline and walk away once that has expired but that 100% doesn't get you the player that Poch wants. As ITK have said, Levy is at the poker table.

appreciate this has nothing to do with GLC but what exactly are you doing in your pram that makes it such a "great time"? my curiosity gets the better of me sometimes

The info i get and have got has aways been reality, be it positive or negative. Maybe if some people get their info from agents who like to spin a story and use the media to their benefit but my info comes from a very high level and so its the truth, positive or negative...

I cant wait for the season to start so that we can all focus on the actual football. These threads are becoming tiresome and depressing because of the negativity of many members. We are sounding like entitled city/Chelsea fans who think that we should walk in and throw a blank cheque on the table. It doesn't work that way. DL has transformed us into a genuine force in world football both on and off the pitch by being prudent, I for one am happy for him to continue being so.

I hope that we get our targets and sort out our areas of weakness. I will be hugely disappointed if we dont. But ultimately we have a fantastic squad of extremely talented players who are more than capable of being competitive next season. I read a poster listing utd's potential forward line of Dybala, Rashford and Martial like we should be massively jealous. Really? Give me Son, Kane and Moura all day long as they have actual measurable output rather than talent that only truly shows itself on paper.

Anyways, I've had enough for this transfer window.

And yes, before someone tells me, I dont plan to return until the window closes.
