We were nailed on to sign players last season as welll that never happened. Not a dig at ITK just that ENIC like to push info about signings that don’t aventuakky happen. We are weaker this year at the start of the season regardless what happens now due to time etc. Starting to look like it could be a classic levy window. Took 6 months to replace Moussa then seeks first team players and replaces them with squad players not deemed good enough last season. Walker syndrome all over again

Or maybe the medical is pencilled in for next week when he’s back from holiday.

Optimistic I know. Herc seemed adamant it’s all agreed, but then Trix mentioned clubs want reviewed terms which could very well be Betis.

If it’s not done by this time next week it’s full on panic time, because there is no reason it shouldn’t be done next week unless we are still miles away from agreeing a fee.
It’s Worrying if if the medical dates are still just pencilled in - they at least should be inked in after all this time!

Other than Grealish I don't recall us having solid links throughout last summer. It seemed to change every week. The message was always "we are pursuing incomings" rather than weekly updates on specific players.

This summer Lo Celso and Sess have been the main consistencies, not just links but reputable journos and solid ITK. That's what makes me less concerned.

Don't get me wrong though, I'll be sweating if we go into the last week and nothing is imminent.

I wonder if the renewed terms could be pay less in advance but more overall down the line. We may need to spend less now so we have the funds for Dybala.

Or, if the selling teams are renewing terms, more in advance and less overall

Right I am back, been away for a week and you wasters have put the mockers on the deal, been reading through some of the pages and I can sense there are people on the verge of hysteria. Betis have tailored their entire transfer window to spending money incoming from the Lo Celso and that is what they will have to do, unless there is a repeat of the Villa/Grealish thing last year when a new owner took over and pumped in new cash and there is absolutely no reason to presume that is at all likely. I see no reason why this won't happen and I am puzzled that others do..

Agreed, next week truly determines where we are going next season.

Starting to get an attack of the Grealishes

Was Grealish still on holiday at this point in the summer and have betis just been taken over by wealthier owners who don’t need to now sell him then?

I appreciate the concerns about this window after last summer, I truely do as I also share them and haven’t forgotten 12 months ago as easily as some, but this is nothing like Grealish.

I think middle of the week next week is when we'll see where we're at on this one. He'll be back from his holiday on Monday, so hopefully we'll be approaching a medical etc between Wednesday and Friday. Lack of news by then and we must have hit a pretty serious snag and then it'll be worrying. Dybala is a bonus rather than a priority for me, especially if Eriksen stays, so hopefully we get Lo Celso and Sess wrapped up by the end of next week and then a late push for Dybala.

Theres 10 days left in the window. Nothing really looks close. This movie is familiar. We’ll be extremely fortunate to get Lo Celso and Sessegnon over the line

No one we bring in now or even a week or 2 ago would be lining up against Villa and most probably City and Newcastle. We’ll go with our established team plus Ndombele (hence why it was crucial to get him in pre tour). That’s most likely why we are happy to let it play out and test the Dybala water before committing to a player that we know is attainable for probably a few extra mill than has been offered at most.

Fee is still the issue holding this up (read itk forum) , like I previously suspected I can see this dragging on till nearer the close of the window, as it’s essentially a game of poker between the two chairman’s & nobody seems to be in a rush to get this done.

I know people are panicking about getting players in for these big games and a strong start is important but Poch/Levy are clearly thinking about the long-term plan not just the short term. So whilst we want these players in ASAP, we need to do it in a way that ensures we don't overspend too early and are unable to bring in other players elsewhere.

Having said that if we only bring in Lo Celso and lose Eriksen I think people will rightly feel a little unfulfilled. It's a fine balancing act.

But JJ not said anything other than he believe we'll be happy come the end of the window. Several of the other ITKs where just as up beat last summer.

This transfer has been in the making for nearly two months and we're still no nearer the end. This is becoming fucking tiresome, the same with so many transfers.

Seems to me we had a tacit agreement or were very close to one with Betis, then they announced Fekir and Levy is trying to play the cheeky bugger with them to get the fee lowered as they’ve said they can’t keep both Fekir and Lo Celso.

It’s nice to have a ruthless and shrewd chairman, but he does press his luck far too much sometimes.

Of course that isn’t really progress at all and arguably puts us on par to 2 years ago when Dembele was playing. We have enough of a settled group to cope with the start, especially with most of them getting a break, full pre season and injury free so I’m not worried going into those games with our established team. As we go deeper though and players can’t get rested, dropped due to form, system changes/options etc it becomes a factor and if we haven’t recruited well that’s where we will feel it.

Be nice to have players like GLC or Dybala on the bench to bring on and change the game at City if needed but they don’t need to be 90min ready

Agreed, my patience is wearing thin. We are still miles away from being strong enough. All we’ve done is sell a RB, and replace Dembele which was long overdue anyway. Clarke is pointless even being mentioned as he’s a kid back on loan at Leeds.

If we get GLC and Sess in and a Eriksen stays then I’ll relax a bit but until that happens, you can’t help but get that familiar Enic transfer window feeling.
