I think some are being very harsh on the kid. (Quelle surprise!)

He was all over the attacking third when we eventually got there. He popped up on the left, the right, the middle. Bags of energy and willingness to run for the team. Showed some lovely touches. Just missing that understanding with other players that will come in time.

Give the lad a break, please?

Thought most of the posts on the last page are pretty positive.

Has some really nice touches and approach play just a little wasteful with the final pass. There is a good player in there I just think we need to put him in the right place to use his skill.

Don't know much about him but if he was to start games who place would he take? Winks?.

I think we saw better of him against Norwich in that he was less reserved and had a few shots at goal, I'm just not sure where I can see his best position being. His overall play feels a little 'risky' in that he tries a lot of things that seem to have a 50% chance of coming off but I agree with @double0 in that he could look quite good in a midfield 3.

It's just hard to fully judge these players with the way we're set up IMO. I think all of Son, Kane, Bergwijn, Dele, Gedson and Ndombele will look much much better if we actually attain some sort of attacking fluidity to our play.

I thought he was bought as a cm but Jose seems to be using him on the right which it seems like he's just doing a job but not his position. Think yesterday maybe he was there to help stop Grealish.

Exactly right. He's currently forced to play out position but his best performances at Benfica came out of box to box midfielder or a deeper lying CM in a 4-3-3.
Also he'll get much better after a full preseason, because he is used to having much more space and time on the ball playing in Portugal.

He looks dynamic and is involved in some nice interplay at times, but his final pass / shot have been found wanting so far - that should improve though. I don't think there were any expectations for him to make a big impact on the starting XI this season, so I think he's showing enough for now. Let's judge him this time next year, with a full pre-season and a bit more experience behind him.

I'm not going to criticise him for the penalty, but I did think it was questionable that he took it in the first place. The only two shots I recall him having for Spurs were softly passed straight to the keeper without drawing his foot back properly (one was on Wednesday), and both would have been buried 90% of the time by any of our attacking players. He doesn't look like a natural finisher or someone who currently has the confidence to put his boot through the ball.

Looks far too lightweight for the PL for me, hope he proves me wrong (as many have in the past) but this league is different to any other & I felt he added nothing against Man United, just kept falling over pleading for non exisistant fouls, needs to toughen up imo

Totally agree. Will never make it in England.

Thankfully he's only here on a loan and we have one more year to assess him. If I had to decide now however, I'd say 'no'.

Has the makings of a Sissoko with a much higher chance of being more. At 21 though, he is probably doomed. Thankfully it's only a loan.

He's young, raw with very little PL experience. There's no reason he can't acclimatise and "toughen up" with more minutes on the pitch, and once he does there seems to be plenty of positive attributes that make him an exciting prospect

I don't know why he was played on the wing when he's a CMF, strange move that, also don't know why people are judging him off the back of that last 30 seeing as he's not a winger?

I get what you're saying which then makes you wonder why play him out of position when the other option was to bring RS on instead?

I still think he has potential. But I'm not sure how he's going to fulfill that if he only gets 30 minute cameos in five different positions.
