With all due respect to our Welsh fans, does anyone really believe he needs "match fitness" to make the squad? He could break both legs in a skiing accident and still make the bench.

All a bit of nothing to me.

theres a difference between just making the team / squad and having an influence on the tournament.

I do think if we had fans in stadiums singing bales name he’d have a different outlook.

Also do not think he’s wanting to give up his 650k a week wage mostly subsidised by Madrid and we likely won’t sanction the 200k portion if we Loan him again so he has to keep there interests close still.

Does this mean he won’t play for us again then ?

He probably loves the Spanish golf courses, too.

It doesn't mean anything. He is on loan to us for the season. After that he goes back to Madrid. It's what we all know. He's not saying he isn't going to stay with us through choice it's how things stand at the moment.

We have the option to extend the loan for another season and until we make that decision and it's acceptable to all parties he goes back to Madrid to sit on sidelines and run his contract down.

He wasn’t asked if he was staying or going he was asked if it was a distraction and gave the only answer he could.

Sky are giving a different spin on things that he has decided to go back to Madrid. Until we ask him to stay that is what will happen. He is under contract with them not us.

Clearly had a falling out with Jose? Please explain this because I think you may be adding 2+2 and getting 5. Total overreaction

“There is not one single manager in the world that doesn’t play Gareth Bale if Gareth Bale is in very good condition. There is not one”

He didn’t even make an appearance vs Villa, let alone start after being rested on Thursday.

So clearly Jose wasn’t impressed with what he saw & therefore all is not well between the two (at the moment) whether that changes in the next few games we shall see.

I'm not in the no worries camp on this myself . I take a very Spurs centric view of the issue . I look at the 240k/week we've spent for 5-6 months on a Bale who didn't want to play..or was injured . Yes he came in in Feb and did well for a bit.. til 2 not bothered performances in two vital matches for us .

The disappointment was clear as Lloris made his statement . Bale was then not picked . Then we have this statement all about how important Wales in the Euros is to him . (Spurs not important ?). Could he not throw us a bone in his comment and say he's focussing 100% right now on getting Spurs top 4...Nope not a crumb for us .

So Jose now has to consider if Bale is going to risk injury playing for us now he's got his fitness back at our expense . Bale gonna battle for us in the vital games coming up do we think ? Does Jose think ?

I accept that if one has no problem with a doormat role then there is nothing in this situation of concern . For the highest paid player at the club tho , I expect more . Just me is it ?

Were you impressed with what you saw on Thursday from Bale?

Do you think playing Bale when we needed a reaction from the team and players who we would have needed to work as hard as we did for the result would have been a good idea?

To think that we could have spent the money and got skriniar instead, then imagine the points we could have saved by avoiding all those stupid mistakes from dier, all this for the purpose of keeping him fit for the euros.

I hope he gets to keep him self fit with rose after the internationals.

Where did that quote come from? Because there's 2 managers that won't play Bale now...

I don't think Bale was'nt picked because of an Interview from Lloris. Bale played 60 minutes on thursday. I know, Kane played 120 minutes on thursday and then played 90 minutes again on sunday, but we know that Bale is a different story in terms of how we try to manage his fitness and body. We also know that he will play today (probably 90 minutes against Belgium) and then maybe some minutes against Mexico on the weekend and then probably another 90 minutes on wednesday against Czech Republic.

I don't think that all is well between Bale and Mourinho, but i don't think he would have played on sunday anyway. I don't even think there was a reason to bring him on.

He started the previous 4 Prem matches

I know. My point was that he played 60 minutes on thursday. It was always unlikely that he starts against Villa. After his last start in the Europa League against Wolfsberg (i know he did not start on thursday but played a smilar amount of minutes because of extra time) he was on the bench against West Ham on the weekend. That's simply how we manage him currently. I see that he started against Fulham and Palace three days later but he was on the bench against Zagreb after that.
We know that he will play a lot in the next 10 days, so not playing him on sunday was not an illogical decision (or had anything to do with an interview from Lloris) in my opinion.

Sorry if i did not understand your point correctly.

I think the evidence is there if you look into it mate, you don't go from starting 4 Prem matches where you're one of the form players over that period to not starting at all or at least getting some minutes especially in the entire context of his last two 'performances' He is match fit now by all accounts, probably not fit enough to complete 90 mins at Prem level but more than fit enough to start back to back matches.

I don't see him starting many matches going forward whether he's fit or not and that's solely down to the fact that his priorities lie elsewhere.

I don't think Bale was'nt picked because of an Interview from Lloris.

Quite so , I was relating events as they happened rather than suggesting one led to another .

Elsewhere , good posters may say , well he's scored some goals/assists so has done good . On occasions yes , but what can be missed is for example, how Doherty feels about the 2 shit matches where he was hung out to dry with no protection from Bale and generally trashed for his own performances. Loves playing behind Bale I don't think . There is more to a forwards' role in 20/21 than the purely creative .How is intensity possible with a Bale in the team ?

Also its been said : well its only 10 mill which is not much for the goals/assists . Firstly we are in a hole financially with our empty stadium
and 10 mill does matter to the bald one for sure . Secondly fans often miss the opportunity cost of an action . 240k/week loan could have attracted an excellent player to play a full season for us .

OK , well Bale can probably have some uses from the bench if we are in a fix, but he's made it clear where his head is at and must surely be a big risk as a starter... and for the highest paid player we have this is a crap outcome imo .

Mourinho went out of his way to praise Kane an Vinicius for their defensive work against Villa. Can't remember his exact words but they were the first two he mentioned. Might have something to do with Bale (and others), might not. But Jose chooses his words carefully.
