The Daily Mail are giving it “Tottenham and Real will enter talks over Bale” again “but the Wales star would have to agree to a massive pay cut.”

File that under “things that aren’t really happening but we need to pad out the sports pages today and tomorrow.”

I'd stay well clear of Bale if it were up to me. The way his acted at Madrid with all the Golf playing stuff, his agent insisting Bale will not be leaving the indication Bale will last past ZZ, not interacting with team mates socially... it reminds me of what Jermaine Defoe said of Bale at Spurs.

Rather we went for Ziyech

They train for what 2-3 hours a day? I don’t see the harm in him playing golf, he has 3 holes at his house. He could be doing a lot worse things.

I’d be more worried about the salary issue and potential for recurring injuries. I think he’d be able to slot right back in but I don’t think it’s ever going to happen.

In fairness water scarcity is a serious issue in Spain and golf is therefore somewhat controversial. However, Madrid's fans hate towards Bale is not that he does bad things but that he hasn't made Madrid his number 1 priority. This is the expectation for all players there.
