My favourite thing about that article is that it's posted by someone called Ron Carne.

If that bloke wasn't nicknamed 'Chilli' at school, then there ain't no justice.
Reading this has me in a state of giggles! Nearly made me choke over my lunch!

Nice header yesterday apart from that and the deflected shot at the end he offered very little, playing mainly against a 19 yr making his debut who he should have dominated.
Its rather amusing how quickly the rose tinted specs are applied off the back of a nicely taken goal.
I find it totally bizarre how a player who at best flits in and out of games engenders such admiration from certain fans
You are joking he was great last season and we did miss him when he left the pitch if he cracks on this year he can be one of our best players, you're a tough critic

I love Lamela, but Toby is one of the best in his position in the world.

Yeah Toby is world class. It would be awesome if Lamela could step up to that level, we'd then potentially have world class players throughout the spine of the team. Lloris, Aldeweireld, Dembele, Lamela, Kane with alot of other very good players around them

Most of these players will be on our top wage of around 80k then a review promised in two to three years time with the new stadium to coincide with the negotiations of a new contract.

I love the idea that our players are happy with our pay structure, I really hope that's true.

Lovely quotes from Verts on Erik...

“In his first season, I had some injuries and so did he,” Vertonghen recalled. “He wanted it so badly. He just wanted to play so much and he pushed himself very hard, perhaps a bit too hard.

“Now he has been fully fit for two years and he is showing us how important he is. If he doesn’t play, we feel his absence.

“He is an unbelievable player now. Even if he is not scoring or creating goals, he works so hard for the team and I’m very happy he is still here. He never wanted to go back to Italy. He is a soldier and that is why he fits so perfectly into this team. He is maybe the hardest-working player in the squad and he is mentally very strong.

What does this guy know in comparison to a couple of anonymous angry posters on an online forum? I think I'll stick to listening to @Francis Gibbs and @UpTownSpur tyvm

... and there was me thinking a teammate was going to slaughter him to a journalist.
Interesting though how he highlights his lack of goals and assists and focuses on his 'hard work' which is exactly what I have been saying. Hardly the criteria for a £30m player, although I think even his most ferile supporters would agree in reality he never was, is or will be one of those.
