Argentina were poor for much of that match, and as much as i love Lamela, bar the nice assist, he was anonymous and gave the ball away a few times. Saying that, Di Maria and Benaga were exactly the same. I do think he needs to be actually played at 10 for a few games at Spurs, I think he can make the most of his skills in that position, yet again his assist last night came from the AMC position,

I also watched the game and agree with your assessment to the fullest. Would also like to see him being played at No 10 and not only for one game. Give him a run in this position and I am sure he will pleasantly surprise alot of us.

When negotiating a new deal, they tend to start big and then work towards a more realistic deal. It is just unfortunate that people just read the headline and make assumptions on a players character based on that alone.
