The 25-year-old Villarreal forward is available on loan amid a breakdown in relations with some of his Spanish team-mates.
Danjuma was formerly a Bournemouth player from 2019 to 2021 before he made his move to La Liga where he has become a highly-rated forward.
He has been on the radar of Champions League clubs over recent seasons and has scored 22 goals in 51 games since moving to Spain in a £22m deal.
Earlier this week, Sportsmail reported that Everton had approached Villarreal over the signing of Danjuma.
The Premier League strugglers are in desperate need of a forward to boost Frank Lampard's relegation fight.
However, due to the finances of the club, Lampard and his team are restricted to the loan market for now.
But the Toffees face stiff competition and a reunion at the Vitality Stadium might be the next step in Danjuma's career.
The forward scored 17 goals in 52 appearances during his two-year spell on the south coast.
Bournemouth are eager to make signings in January as Gary O'Neil looks to strengthen his squad in a bid to stay up.
