I think there's a quality player in him. I almost hate to say it but he's been playing next to Tanganga. I don't think we can judge him until he has someone who's positionally better next to him.
it's really weak when you have to start pinning a player's deficiencies on someone else, go back 20 pages and it was sanchez's fault that emerson offers nothing on the ball, now it's tanganga's turn. you could stick prime toby alongside him, it's still not going to change his inability to offer any kind of offensive threat - and it's not just "crossing" that he struggles with.

Really is too young to start judging. I know we would all want immediate progress, but this one will take a couple seasons I feel to develop.

He's done well, much better than Aurier. Ok, he can't cross but his defending is good and his engine is very good. I think he will develop into a top right back (wing back) in the coming years.

Royale has a lot of good attributes…. Excellent positioning, good defending one on ones, decent in little passing triangles, brave, decent in the air, gets himself to the back post when his opposite wing back has the ball high up the pitch. His delivery from wide areas has been poor but that can be worked on. I think considering that he is a young player coming in from a very different league His performances so far have been reasonably good overall. i wouldn‘t mind seeing him play a few games as the RCB in the 3 so that we can find out whether he can be cover/competition for Romero as well as an excellent option for RB in a back 4 and a potential option (with lots of work on his delivery) for a RWB option.

Astonishing scenes as Spurs favourite named in Brazil's starting XI in qualifier away to Ecuador. Let's see how good a right back he is...

Just got a second yellow for Brazil after 20 minutes and sent off, might come home early now.

Both were stupid challenges and didn't need to be made.

Crazy game Allison just got sent off as well. The Ecuador keeper was sent off earlier. 10 v 9 now.

Edit: VAR overturned, just a yellow now, back to 10 v 10

Tbf the second yellow was a terrible decision by the ref idek how he gave a yellow for that

From one angle he kicked up between the other guy's leg right into his gentleman's agreement.
Saw a full live replay and he gets the ball as the opponent jumps. The ref has been booking players left and right though so he probably should’ve taken that into account. A bit harsh i thought.

Clearly he got the ball(s)!

We never looked at the man and was going for the ball, was an unlucky red (second yellow). But glad if it means he is heading back early as won't be playing in the next game now.
